Ok sorry just reread your post. The SPD your refering to the Serial Presence Detect on the ram. It's the little chip on the expensive ram that stores the rec voltages, speeds error corec setting etc.

Quite but I only realised what happened once I reread it. My bios shows the ram spd as ram spd

ok I'll clarify that. My bios for setting the clock speed of the ram is in the bios as RAM SPD. Thats what I thought at the start
