Paddy is right, since I got back playing before x-mas I havent looked back. its the depth to the game that now seems to become apparant. There is so much going on that its hard to keep track of, thats if you want to. If your going to play this game, dont join and play by yourself get into a corporation and the fun then really begins... :D

Whichever corp you join, your going to find yourself getting into wars. pvp action is top notch in this game, provided you dont run into a laggy system like paddy mentioned.

Last night the game had nearly 6,000 players online. The amount of wars and politics going on in the game is unbelievable, there is alliances being setup and broken all over the place. There is numerous pirates and thos that want to live in peace and harmony... although thats not likely to happen if you want to get ahead in the game.

    :ninja:

Right well thats the best insight I can give you guys about the game atm.

    See u LOT in EVE!

thanks to a bunch of people, im getting my learning skills up while part fighting 0.4 security pirates and part trading using a hoarder with nearly 10000 m3 cargo. depending on how busy it is, i can just set up a trade route and hit autopilot, alt + tab and do something completely different (making sure to stay in secure zones) :)

the corporation im currently in is very small, around 10 members total who arent always online, very helpful though for a newb like me. i only have one question, whats the Quonnas book everyone mentions and how can i get it?

    Titanius...

there'd have to be some goal towards it..

i.e. mining, getting a fleet to go around and kick ass. Not to mention we'd have to be in the same area of space or it would take an hour or 2 for every1 to get their **** together.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27 Titainus

well i was thinking a we would do a few events i.e deep space mining.... frigate battles etc etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 998 ✭✭✭zekiel

ahh well, nice thought and a couple of frig battles would be nice. :D
Unfortunately i live in Dublin and wouldnt be able to make it.

Stan your right as regard to organisation, it would take ages to organise something like that.

Here is another thing I wanted to put together, im going to set up an irish eve-online website and use it as a neutral ground for irish eve players. Maybe even organise irish events such as frig battles and hunting competitions. I've been considering this for a while... what would guys think, is it worth while?:D

I've been itching to try Eve for a long time and the download option eventually convinced my lazy post Xmas blues ass. Being a MMORG vet and general cynic of the whole genre, very few have impressed my so much in such a short time. It seems to be way ahead of E&B with design and content and indeed seems to have delivered more than any single player Elite clone to date (even the beautiful X2). I just hope Eve will continue to hold my attention!
When I get a good hang of this game, I'll be back to looking for a corp:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 998 ✭✭✭zekiel

Vuk the best tip I can give you with regard to eve and I think all the other players will agree is get in a corp asap, you will find that you can learn a lot more than trying to go at it alone.

Thanks zekiel, I already have an open offer to join a corp, but I'm always wary, the standings info is very useful in this respect tho, i will keep my scanners peeled!

but anyways i think ya should give the site a go!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,967 ✭✭✭adnans

how about an irish community channel in-game for starters? if it starts filling up, maybe we can even get a forum later on.

I've been on the site a good few times and went to download it, but have never gotten around to it. I thin it looks really kool though.

    1. Is it worth downloading?
    2. Is it good even after playing it for ages?
    3. Is it worth the subscription fee?

Are any of you guys in good Corps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 998 ✭✭✭zekiel

    Yes to all 3 questions,

Eve is game that takes time to get into, you will have to play it for a couple of weeks to get into it and learn the how the economy works and how the game is played.
Basically its a space sim with thousands of players online ant any one time, looks cool and plays just as good.
If you dont want to download it you can buy the game from most outlets ie.. Game or Virgin, cant remember the price about €20 or there abouts.

This game though might not be to everyone's taste as it has a steep learning curve and will take you a while to get into. So dont expect to be able to take over the galaxy in a week.:D

The main aspect I find enjoyable about eve is the corporation structure of things, basically if you dont join one you will find yourself bored and you wont enjoy eve as much.

Have a read through this thread and read the story's of whats happening in the game and then make your own mind up if you want to play or not.

Personally I love playing eve and I'm not going to give it up anytime soon.:)

Thanks for taking the time to reply with all that! I think I might try it out.

Whats this buddy programme you mentioned? Do I need to be invited by someone who is already playing it?

    The Buddy program is::
A person who currently plays in eve can make you a buddy in turn you will receive an eve online serial key through email. You just then have to download the client and put in the serial which in turn gives you 3 free days to play. After that you have the option of paying to play or not.

    :D and thats the BUDDY!
