Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That feels like the end of this game

    Disasterous.

Pretty boring game for the neutrals. 49ers not really tested but they will need to up it a bit to get to Baltimore and KC level imo.

After this i'm definitely going to struggle to justify staying up for the second game.

This game has tired me to watch - won’t be staying up for game 2

  • Registered Users Posts: 394 ✭✭rebelyell99

Wouldn't be surprised for the second game to be the same kind of story

Game 2 is the game i was looking forward to. So I'll make the effort.

Sens v Habs on Hockey Night in Canada will keep me occupied anyway.

    Time for coffee.

Not boring at all. 49ers are simply far better, Vikings pulled off an upset last week, Saints failed to turn up and Vikings never should have made it so far and are simply being outclassed.

Lack of tension now, but in terms of play, the 49ers are playing really well

Yep totally agree - that 49ers pass rush is on fire. Will be tough for anyone in the NFC to beat them at home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Cousins really got away with what looked like not being bothered on that 4th & 1

It will go pretty much un noticed but Jimmy G was absolutely terrible. Granted he didn't have to be any good. Most of his yards came on 3 toss ups on 3rd down. 2 of them were one handed grabs by wide receivers after poor throws.

Just goes to show how dominant the defense and run game has been.

Ever since the pick, nearly everything has been on the ground.

Yep pretty much he was poor enough before the pick.

49ers very impressive. Can't see them being stopped next week either.

Think it would be a close game against Seattle. I could see them taking care of the Packers handy enough though.

What Seattle do this week is anyone's guess though.

    Ha, ha yeah I know.

Ever been to Santa Cara (or Landover) though? Not much to see.

The towns near the stadium were quite nice I thought, felt like proper California ( as opposed to downtown SF)

    Very interesting game in Baltimore!
14:0 to the Titans. Jackson INT leads to the first TD, then Jackson failing on 4th and 1 leads to the 2nd.
    Did not see this start!

    Serious start.

    Oooohhhh.

Baltimore should have punted when inside there own half ,that titans front is talented.Titans two passing tds who would have thought that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,861 ✭✭✭Mysterypunter

Was reading an article when Baltimore were going well about some whizkid who advises the coach to go for it on 4th down, it was the greatest load of rubbish ever written, nearly as bad as that decision. 45 mins left, 7 points down, what did the computer say to the whizkid

Only catching up on the early game and I see the niners won which is good. The Titans aren't messing around either.

    Bad drop there.

Though were likely to bring out FG unit anyway as it was short of a 1st.

Jackson is one of those QBs when he's bad he's really bad. Didnt have many of those games this year but the 1st game vs Cleveland he struggled. And in college he was prone to fumbles, picks and silly mistakes.

But going for it on your own side of the field in the 1st half only down 7? You don't do that in a playoff game. And the next play they loaded up on the run, despite everyone a d their mother knows teams like to take deep shots after a sudden possession change. Bad coaching there x2.

This plays right into the Titans strengths, with the lead a running team is way more dangerous. And Tennessee, despite not scoring in the 2nd half last week, is actually top of the entire league overall in 2nd half points scored.

Ingram is hurt, now Roberts shaken up. Gonna need a monster game from Jackson in the 2nd half to come back and not squander one of the best seasons for a QB and for a team in a while.

If the Titans persist with zone on 3rd and long, allowing receivers to get totally open, then the Ravens will get back into this.

Great half for the Titans, they'll be happy to just give up 3pts there.
14:3. Titans could do with another early TD drive in the 2nd half.

Well the stats have been doing a pretty good job to get them to this point. It's very easy to say that now when you know the result. They have been running with that all year and it's helped them become the highest scoring offence in the regular season and the 1 seed with a game to spare.

  • Registered Users Posts: 394 ✭✭rebelyell99

1st drive of the 2nd half is critical now,if Baltimore score then they will get momentum and probaly push on

It cost them field position in a close game, I'm not even giving out about the subsequent touchdown, just think its a gimmick college call.

It's worked all year It would be ridiculous to change how they approach the game at this stage. If you are going to take that stats approach you have to fully buy in and not change it just because you are scared of what might happen.

This is the playoffs though. Nothing to do with fear, but how your opponent is playing you.

Correct, but they just failed again, and its costing them the game

Why did they try to run the sneak again when it didn't work before, they knew it was coming, and you have a 240 lb RB. To get a half yard man just hand off. That was awful

Jackson is completing 50% of his passes, and avg 5yds on the ground. Titans playing this perfectly so far.
