Any of yee read the extract of Dennis Coughlan book were the Glen pulled out of the championship in 68?

Yeah I did. I asked my old man about it, he said Denis is a gent but defended the Glen man who got banned in the article. He told me he should have been jailed! Apparently he went berserk down the Pairc with the hurley and did serious damage to a few lads. It made national news at the time. The Glen were hated in the 60s for being dirty, at least that was the perception.

Still are to be honest. They are one club that a lot of other clubs have a strong dislike of, not because of that incident, just in general. As a Delanys man I have my own dislike of them, naturally enough, but a lot of fellas from different clubs have said to me over the years how they really dont like the Glen. I dont thinks its cause of winning teams either. I remember when Piarsaighs were flying high and didn't really hear much against them. Strange really.

On today's game, I see it being a very close one. The wind will play absolute havoc I think. Coping with the conditions will be key. As will Hoggie of course, if he has a bad game, Glen have no chance, if he performs like he can, Glen by a few points.

Disaster for Duhallow. This will hurt.

Connolly for the Rockies looks like a great player. Rugby tackled but got no free

Rockies have had a few shocking wides

Horgan got a free 2 mins later for a lot less.

Good game this. McAllister is stone useless though, corner back should be off and he hasn't even a yellow to his name.

3rd goal for the Glen, 3-9 to 1-15 at the water break.

On McAllister, he has missed some things but he is letting alot go which Cork hurling needs more of.

Connolly is getting rugby tackled and hardly no free. Scandalous.

This is the new Cork championship, no more nice guys. The benefits will be seen

Other than the few fouls on Connolly, the ref is doing great. Its great to see the game not reduced to a free taking contest and more of a battle. That will help Cork teams in the club championship and of course the intercounty too.

We have gone way too soft recently

Get away with that. A blatant free is a free full stop. We will see how good Cork are come championship.

Look at Kilkenny. Same thing , time to copy it

You’re spot on. Horgan would usually be hitting about 0-14 off frees. No more of that

    Great game.

Thought Horgan won it for the Glen but the Rockies fight back to force extra time!

Great game. My mam just rang me to talk about it asking if there is extra time or a replay now! :D

This is bollocks. There's a world of difference between letting the game flow and not punishing blatant fouls. I don't suppose you want to see Cads hauled down for Cork every time he rounds his man?

Hopefully Rockies younger legs will get them across the line in ET
