Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hope to go to that one night with Bruce in the National Concert Hall in December. Should be entertaining enough.

I can't remember exactly where it is, but it's not there!

As my post further up this page says, I'm going to see them in Rio next week :)

OK. Thanks for that. Seems a bit more of an appropriate venue alright.

I'm surprised this hasn't happened before.

And then he gets the guitar back, and does it again!

'arry needs to have a word. All joking aside, he could end up (accidentally) twatting someone in the audience, then the lawyers would start getting involved...

It happened to Murray a long time ago as well. Clocked a policeman on the head.
I couldn’t for the life of me imagine Murray swinging a guitar around his head although he did say they were half sozzled.

Maiden over looked again for the rock and roll hall of fame.I know the band say it means nothing to them but they should have been inducted years ago. Its strange they were ever even nominated.

Not really strange, thing is a farce.

As much as I love NIN makes little sense them being on the same ballot as Depeche Mode who should be in already.

First ever time for Thin Lizzy to be even nominated is also baffling.

Soundgarden such a great band but I think it's fair to say only stand a chance due to the demise of the iconic front man sadly.

Slightly deviating, but Priest should be in already (this is their 2nd nomination if i recall correctly) along with Motorhead (who may only, sadly get the nod due to Lemmy's passing 4 years ago.)

Not deviating at all, Priest and Lizzy are 2 of my favourite bands and due to the time elapsed and impact since forming are the most deserving on the list didn't mention Priest as I'd already gripped somewhere on here the time they were nominated first which was only a year or two ago :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,687 ✭✭✭✭jack presley

Bruce’s comments on the HoF probably haven’t done them any favours in getting nominated

    https://www.iheart.com/content/2018-11-16-bruce-dickinson-says-the-hall-of-fame-is-killing-rock/

But if the band don’t care about getting in, why should the fans?

Whitney Houston is nominated in there somewhere. And Notorious. Wouldn’t lose sleep over maidens exclusion

The whole Hall of Fame is a complete scam anyway.
Half the artists on it don't even deserve it.
And for decades it's been run by white old men who decide who gets in so obviously you have the whole racist overtones then as well.
The whole thing is just to give record producers more power.
When you consider the artists who aren't on it ie Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Ronnie James Dio..
Ronnie James Dio....I mean right there that's a complete joke.
And then you have Iron Maiden...who are and have been the biggest Metal band ever in HM history and still don't get nominated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,386 ✭✭✭Wrongway1985

Def Leppard got in last year but yeah.

I mean it's right there in the name, ROCK N' ROLL HALL OF FAME, yet somehow Whitney Houston & The Notorious B.I.G are worthy of nomination, no offence to both great musicians when they were alive, but how exactly do they warrant inclusion into a Hall tied to a genre with which they had no involvement.

I though it was a great night. Really enjoyed it. It was on for over 2.5 hours. To be fair he was excellent as a one man show. Full of energy and some funny stories with a few Nicko impressions thrown in. Q&As in the second half was enjoyable. There was a bit of heckling mainly after the interval but it didn’t bother him and never responded to it.

According to Eonmusic, Bruce Dickinson has revealed that he has been in discussions about bringing IRON MAIDEN's epic "Empire Of The Clouds" to the live stage along with other MAIDEN classics, in an orchestral setting. Dickinson, a huge fan of DEEP PURPLE, whose Jon Lord recorded the "Concerto For Group And Orchestra" in 1969, made the revelation during the question-and-answer portion of his spoken-word event in Dublin, Ireland on Friday night (December 13).

    what were they heckling about?

    Wasn't really heckling just banter.

Some idiots posed the following questions to him "Is the rumour true regarding you burning the tri-colour onstage?", "What do you have against the Irish?" and "Do you feel awkward waving the Union Jack in Dublin when playing The Trooper?".
He laughed all of them off.

Otherwise it was a very entertaining show.

I thought it was very very good. Different to what is thought. I'd imagined an "interview" type set up. Glad it wasn't

A very enjoyable night, a very entertaining guy.....

Seating in the venue was a bit shambolic, I was allocated a seat that didn't exist, and I wasn't the only one. Staff were very helpful and no-one ended up feeling aggrieved...

I though I'd post this here as I'm sure some other people in Ireland are looking for vintage Eddie's in hi-res and very very hi-res. I acquired these pictures from various scources like calendars, ad promos, magazine cuttings, rare bootlegs ect. As far as I know I have even more Eddie pics than even Derek Riggs and possibly Steve Harris as well. Both Derek's website and the rather excellent 'Run For Cover' book are missing a lot of great Eddie's that I have, and are hard to very hard to get hold of.

I also have a lot of albums, singles, Live albums and rare Eddie's without any type at all. I've been collection Eddie images since around 1992, so I have amassed a very very large collection since then. All my pics are hi-res to very very hi-res. One or two pics are slighly low res, because I can't find them in a larger res. Chances are if anybody on this forum or another Maiden forum is looking for a particular Eddie pic, I'll more than likely have it.

Anyway if someone here is looking for Eddie pics from 1980 to 1990 and a few ones here and there between 1990 to 2000, I'll more than likely have them. Last but not least I also have some more of Derek's colour Eddie's and 98% of his recent black & white Eddie's too. Feel free to message/pm me if you are looking for certain Eddie's. I think it would be best if you send me the low res jpgs or links from the net that you are looking for.
