Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry Liffey valley. I did tell him to go to blanch as manager in carrickmines said they’d have the most.

Love it. Apology incoming I hope 😂

Anybody been to swords Curry’s yet, is it worth a trip up?

Certainly google says Currys in Blanch is much busier than normal. Good luck to those that ventured out.

Damn that's mad. Probably only few in store knew about it.

Doubt they will get any more?

    Best luck.

Least 12 more people got them so 12 less people who will need to get them incase other stores get them before Xmas so people here might get a chance to get 1.

    Carrickmines go now

Girlfriend got it for me, straight to counter. At first they acted confused she said but she begged and got one. Digital only, no idea how many left. Best of luck

  • Registered Users Posts: 284 ✭✭loughrey

I chanced going to Blanch there, the lady told me my email wasn’t enough? Trying to track this down for fellow boardsie. Desperate gf here 😂

You should go back and use the kiosk/self check out screen with a debit card as you check out yourself and just have to input the reservation number on the email so you don't even have to go near the staff. That's what I did and had no issue collecting and I had no text. I would have just went over to the kiosk if I was turned away. They may want to put you off so you'll lose your reservation and the staff can snap it up as the standard policy has always been that they'll just ask you to quote your reservation number as Argos doesn't require a phone number to reserve so email is sufficient. Considering Cex are offering an easy 700 for a PS5 it's pretty lucrative for staff to make an easy 200€ if they want without having to try to sell online

Very frustrating, I went in there 10-15 mins ago and was told none left. Really poor form imo.

Or they could have been just having a friendly chat about getting the last one.
I’ve often got talking to staff about stuff when buying various items.

I was there as well. At 5 o clock on the hour, said they were all gone. One staff member said they had 47 in total that arrived today and all snapped up.

Some curry's staff in city centre showed me stock availability on screen at liffey valley (6) and (5) in blanch at around zoomed off to Liffey myself and asked a friend to check blanch within 30 mins both places said they have no stock, when I went to Liffey it wasn't busy. Couldn't trust a word they said, a bit disappointed.

People should call Currys out on social media. Name and shame them. Bad form.

Their staff probably already got theirs and are getting these ones to make money

Stock has been selling out almost instantly every time its available. No reason to think this time any different.

Staff wouldn't be allowed to hold back multiple units and in multiple locations. Dont be silly

Can we hold off ****ting on the retail employess at the busiest shopping time of the year?

There's no proof that they are buying the consoles and even if they are, their money is just as good as yours and we've already seen numerous people on here buy/book multiple consoles.

Stop posting ****e. It's a thread for stock updates, not a witch hunt against staff who probably deserve to have one given the work they'll do over the next few weeks.

Please leave the Currys staff alone. Most people would do the same for friends and family. I want one as a gift as much as the rest of ye and have no issue if that's why there were none on the floor.

Semi stock related, got a disc one today in Argos Enniskillen (I'm from the Midlands), got a reservation through at 5am yesterday and seen a 2 pop up yesterday evening in Cookstown, I reckon reservations that expire get scanned back into the live system during the night or as couriers return stock to hubs etc. Was well worth the hassle of getting it in N.I ðŸ˜

Now this attitude is bad form, you have no proof of any wrong doing. Some staff genuinely didn’t know. Ppl getting very bitter they did not get what they wanted. If they have put online more would have got into hands of re sellers.
It looks like they were told to only sell to people who really needed one ie judgement call at the time they were asked. I know my gf had to plead her case to get 1.

Mate that's a cop out.... Because I'm not willing to beg my kid shouldn't get one? Its not x factor.

I was in Blanch at 9am and if they had them and weren't honest when I asked them then that's bullsh1t.

They didn’t have them until they got a delivery at 3, weren’t guaranteed.
Anyway thanks everyone but I’m done, to much chat(myself included) and bitterness

Retail employees do this, of course they do, I've done this myself with Phone launches and I've seen it with the WII U & PS3 launch. I don't necessarily begrudge them, in some ways its a perk of the job but they definitely do it.
