Another great round. Some nice songs there.

Well done on the 1st Kev!

I'm coming for you Zaph!!! Watch as PhatKev overtakes both of us in the next round.

That said, I just remembered what my Summer Song was, and it was definitely a gamble I may live to regret.

Yeah, I'm not overly confident with my choices for the last two rounds. PhatKev is on a roll and I reckon he could just trample us into the dirt.

I have felt like every round has been a gamble though, and so far so good, so who knows what could happen!

In second place - The Breeders - Drivin On 9

Definitely stretching the boundary of folk but this is a great tune, very catchy, really, really liked it

    Incidentally 9 points for Osh

Lovely choice, wouldn't have thought of it at all but some nice out-of-the-box thinking.

I struggled with this category but thought I had picked something at least mid-table. I'm actually less confident about my other two choices (one is a bit love-or-hate, the other is possibly gonna be a duplicate) so wooden spoon may be beckoning. :(

Incidentally Green&Red, do you listen to Laura Marling? I haven't listened to all her stuff but what I do know by her is pretty good and she definitely has a folky sound, I was considering choosing something by her for this round but wasn't sure which one to go with.

Ok in 7th Place Toots & The Maytals: Pressure Drop

Reggae wouldn't be my favourite but I liked this and can see the summer element

4 points for the Purple Tin

    6th Place - The Drums - Let's Go Surfing

Whats more summery than surfing. Really liked this on first listening, it kinda slipped down after repeated listening, still a great choice

5 points for Home J Fong

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

8th Place Mac DeMarco - Let Her Go

Again very summery, good choice, one that could have scored higher on a different day

    3 points for Shane U

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

5th place Weezer - Island in the Sun

I LOVE this song, love it, just scored down due to overfamiliarity and I'd said I'd score music that was new to me.. But what a summer song

    6 points for PhatKev

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

9th place - The Gandharvas - First Day Of Spring

I didn't really get how this was summer related

Bottom of the pile for this round is Pearl Jam - Dance of the Clairvoyants

Probably one of the best songs of the round but I cannot see the summer relevance........at all. Great song though

    1 pointer for Trigger

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Right, I'll take a little break there before the Top 3

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Whoop! Top 3 again, so at the very least I'll be tied with Zaph for top spot going in to the final round...

It's too good to be true. Definitely gonna fall at the final hurdle...

Didnt really get the brief, didnt know you wanted a summer song :pac: thought you just wanted something upbeat

"Best song for a sunny day - again straight forward enough, upbeat"

    Woops..

I stand by my selection, I love that song and would dance away to it while cooking at the BBQ

Edit: I'm sure the lyrics mention the sun :pac: there ya go!

First song that popped in to my head for Sunny Day Song, I didn't even think of other options for that category, glad it went down well... :D

Whoop. Did not know how that would go down but I do love a good hip hop song in some good weather. And I think from your first walrus you mentioned liking the genre so figured why not. One of my favourite bands over the years.
