In 5th place The Breeders - Cannonball

The Breeders second song in the Walrus, one of the best intros to a song

6 points for Homer J. Fong

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

In 9th place Alejandro Escovedo: Dear Head On The Wall

Liked this at first but it kinda grated on me after a listen or two

2 points for The purple tin

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

In 4th place The Strokes - Someday

    Another classic song, absolutely brilliant

    7 points for ShaneU

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

In 10th place Sonic Youth - Kool Thing

No easy way to describe the bottom song, I just didn't like it

    1 point for Osh

    I think it could!! :)

In 3rd place Low Millions - Eleanor

I'd never heard this song before but really liked it, it got bumped ahead of the Strokes and the Breeders on account of being new to me

8 points and my walrus trophy go to Also Starring LeVar Burton

In 2nd place Arcade Fire - Keep the car running

The best song nominated across all the categories, absolutely love Arcade Fire and this is arguably their best song, its just brilliant

    9 points to Irish Aris

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,538 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Wooohooo! I don't even care where I finished overall!

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Which means Trigger gets 10 points with

If I had a gun - Noel Gallaghers high flying birds

Not as good as the Arcade Fire song but gets top spot cause I hadn't heard it before. I loved Oasis but have never really got into Noel or Liams solo stuff. This would make me go and look at Noel's stuff, its very like the Be Here Now stuff.
    Loved it

Thanks Green&Red, I'm genuinely delighted - I always thought we had fairly similar tastes in previous Walrus'

For anyone keeping track that's back-to-back Walrus wins for me following a win in Reberetta's Walrus week before last...

Not that I'm bragging or anything... ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Leaves the final table looking like

    Also Starring LeVar Burton 40
    Zaph 35
    Irish Aris 32
    PhatKev 34
    Osh 25
    Trigger 23
    Homer J. Fong 24
    ShaneU 24
    The purple tin 25
    Reberetta 14

Really enjoyed that, thanks everyone for your entries

Sorry Seb, I feel bad for the low score

We will have to put a stop to all this bragging.. your getting a bit ahead of yourself...

    CONGRATS!!! Serious well done..

Thanks G&R for the nice and quick game :pac:

Edit: Mid table after being second last.. happy with that!

I'd like to take this opportunity to plug the first ever SURLAW (Reverse Walrus) here in Forum Games, which I'm hosting, and sign ups are open. Please do check it out if you haven't already, should be a bit of a laugh...

I still think I was robbed of 10 points with the so called Summer song! The brief never mentioned summer!!!

That extra 9 points with one less for everyone else means I really finished 3rd

    :pac:

I beg to differ, Eurovision - or in our case LeVar-ovision - is no laughing matter :pac:

For me it is, because no matter the result, a song I like will be crowned the Winner... :D

But yes you're right, it's a very serious affair, and should be treated as such...

I'm delighted with second, so congratulations again. And thanks for the contest G&R, really enjoyed it and there's plenty of new and interesting music for me to listen to.

When I saw Zaph had entered this Walrus I thought he might have chosen this too, and we'd end up with a duplicate! :p

Congrats LeVar for yet another Walrus win (the Walrus guru at this stage!) and thanks G&R for running. :)
