Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

why are they on 99.5 as well as 94.3? are they on 88.1 as well?

    From the Christmas FM thread:

    Dublin – 94.3 FM

    Kildare – 88.1 FM

    North Wicklow – 99.5 FM

I heard Christmas FM on 99.5 yesterday evening driving around the southside of Dublin. I checked both 94.3 and 88.1 and there was nothing. However, this evening I heard it on both 99.5 and 94.3 - didn't try 88.1.

    The thread you need:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057332030

Is Heat FM going off the air on 99.5 during the Christmas FM run or looking for a new home, which NRG has already managed to do (moving from 88.1 to 99.1)? How about 91.9, 105.7, between 107.8 and 108.0 or between 101.2 and 101.5?

No.1fm is on 105.7 in the Lucan/clondalkin area. Signal isn't very strong.

Been a while since we've had any activity here. Here's a list of what's on as of today in the Dublin area.

87.6 - NLR (part time only)
    91.6 - Dance916
    93.2 - Phever
    99.1 - NRG
    99.5 - Heat
    107.1 - Tonik

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,933 ✭✭✭JDxtra

NRG moving back to 88.1 from tomorrow.

99.1 isn't a great frequency, they are getting hammered on both sides. Wasn't their first choice though as 92.1 was a non-runner after the Spirit relay started.

Why can’t the BAI and maintain the infrastructure (and a set of permanent frequencies) to be used for temporary stations? Then, just change the source feed as the allocations change.

Surely there’s money in the fund to subsidize any excess cost (the operator should pay a share). Would also allow more niche stations the ability to get on FM without negotiating transmission fees and setting up links etc.

No stream and no idents on air at all. Heard an advert... once... but that's it.

They've a FB page under the name 'Planet House Promotions', what ever that is.

    See here...
    https://www.facebook.com/planethousepromotions

Suspect they've just really just been holding the frequency while working on something for the future.

Its not in the BAIs remit, apart from that you cannot standardise a transmission network for the different types of temporary stations.

As an aside many of the regular temps already own their transmission equipment.

    Agreed.
It most certainly would be more expensive anyway as the BAI would have to rent the masts.
As it stands, most of the transmission providers have the infrastructure in place and a deal can be worked out with them.
Personly speaking, i think the current system works well.
