Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

mine increased to 94 Turkish lira per month since October

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

Mine went up during that increase. It was cheaper in September than it was in October, Nov and this months just went through today at the same price as those two previous.

So what's the current state of play? I had a Revolut loaded with lira but lost the card, can't put my new card on as a payment method (doesn't seem like there's an option to anymore with PlayStation either), I bought a gift card but it's not allowing me to redeem it, any tips on the go?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,253 ✭✭✭ooter

    Are you using a vpn @oodles19 ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 288 ✭✭oodles19

I am yes, I just managed to get a gift card through there but I can't add my new Revolut card unfortunately. This might all be moot in a few months anyway, as I had the max subscription to allow family members in different homes to use my account, and that looks to be on the way out from the looks of things...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,005 ✭✭✭shmeee

A follow up on the above.

Logged into netflix there today hoping to see an payment failed screen but payment went through for €3.54 (when converted from Lira) on the AIB account and the new AIB debit card is linked on the Netflix account.

So I'm not sure how - did it update automatically? And they pulled from bank IBAN etc? Or in my messing around I actually added the new card, but yet I didn't get any email confirmation saying such or had to authorise the card in any way. And old card was listed as payments method up until the other day. So it's a mystery to me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,589 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

Just note AIB debit is screwing you on charges for currency exchange. It's 1.75% which is prob 5-6c but it's min 65c. I'd keep trying to add an alternative card and when it works, change it to primary card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 670 ✭✭✭fm

My aib visa credit card expired recently and my new card started to be debited the next month without me doing anything, card number didn't change but expiry did so it was automatically changed by netflix turkey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,005 ✭✭✭shmeee

69.99 Lira on any exchange market is circa €3.52, so can't see this extra charge?

from previous posts i clicked on chat support and you should be chatting with an Agent and ask for a back up payment method this way you can add your card / revolut and that should work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 748 ✭✭✭RogerThis

Do I have to remove my Revolut card from Netflix before I can sign up with the Turkish gift card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,290 ✭✭✭-=al=-

I don’t think so. Leave it as a backup option. When you use the gift card to get the ball rolling hopefully Netflix takes the remaining gift card credit and combines it with your backup option as payment for the month. Hopefully from then on it just takes it from the card.

This is what happened for me. I bought one Colombian gift card and applied it. Once that first month ran out, the payment method defaulted to back to my Irish card and COP26,900 was taken from it successfully.

Morning, so Argentina went up to 16e for a 4screen HD account.

Whats the easiest country to transition to?

Is it still , cancel account, let it expire , next day you VPN and sign in with country of choice and sign up and it should take payment from card on account still? (i know it wont be this easy!)

  • Registered Users Posts: 569 ✭✭✭Pauly26

Bastard's are increasing the turkish netflix, for me it'll increase to about €6.50 (4 screen HD)

To be fair, everytime Netflix increase the price in Turkey the lira craps the bed and it ends up not really affecting us too much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,589 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

Can you imagine being Turkish and seeing the price increase though? Thats 41.99 to 54.99 (May 2021) to 77.99 (June 2022) to 93.99 (Nov 22) to 130.99 Feb 23. 3 times the price.

Looking back to 55trl days, I was paying about 5.40. so dulpit is correct, the price increase isn't massive for us

Gotta pay for another Harry & Meghan documentary and dating shows. Cancelling al the scripted shows isn't helping enough.

    Got email today

We’re updating our prices to bring you more great entertainment. Your monthly price will change to TL 97.99 on February 18th, 2023.

Will go up to €4.78 from €3.47 (2 screen)

I struggle to find anything to watch on it these days

"updating our prices to bring you more great entertainment" When they ban country hopping they will find themselves short of millions of customers

Anybody successful in updating payment details for Argentina

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,940 ✭✭✭✭banie01

Same, find it very hard to find anything of interest to me. I find myself more and more reverting to the High Seas 😉

I have Netflix basically free as I have a 100% rebate and at this point even with my being "Turkish" I am finding less and less value in it.

I got an email earlier saying my plan will go up to 130.99 TL. It's the 4 screen plan. So many price increases....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 461 ✭✭muloc

Will this impact those paying monthly with Revolut?

16 digit number, cvv and expiry possibly not changing?

Hopefully as long as the card details remain the same we should be ok.

  • Registered Users Posts: 125 ✭✭samboy08

Pakistan will end up being the cheapest after this comes into effect won't it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,589 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

I'd assume card numbers will stay the same, it's only the account IBAN that's changing. It happened already with brexit with no change to card details.

We should be ok so 😁

I got it done this morning. The account ran out yesterday.

Got a 200 TL Netflix Gift Card from Turgame.com for €11.01. The code took a few hours to arrive, glad I did this on a previous day. The is going to last two months on the Standard plan. It was the more expensive price at TL 97.99.

For the VPN I used Windscribe as a Windows application. I set this to Istanbul. Open a browser, then incognito.

Opened netflix.com and signed in. Resigned up to the membership. Put in the CVC for my Revolut card, and it failed.

Click on other method and entered the gift card. Worked straight away, happy days.

Thanks everyone, for all the info on this thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,147 ✭✭✭ironictoaster

I also got the email also for the Turkish Netflix price increase (131 TL per month).

Had a good read of this thread since signing up and it seems like a complete pain in the arse signing up now. People are using gift cards now? I presume adding your Revolut card via the curve app no longer works?

I can’t see myself unless something substantially cheaper region appears.

  • Registered Users Posts: 819 ✭✭✭setanta1984

Pakistan would now appear to be €2 a month cheaper than Turkey, for the top tier subscription. Assuming this is accurate

Has anyone attempted to move from Turkey to Pakistan yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,853 ✭✭✭bromley52

Turkey with Revolut has been working well for me for the past 3 to 4 years if not longer. I'm not going to jinx it for the sake of €24 if that is the saving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,290 ✭✭✭-=al=-

Im sure the process is the same, but probably not worth it for such a small gain. Pakistan prices could increase any time too, you would think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,699 ✭✭✭Gusser09

Lads is it just a revolut card I need to sign up to Turkish or Pakistan Netflix?

    Getting fleeced with Irish prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,253 ✭✭✭ooter

Just checked Pakistan Netflix and it says prices range from 250 Rs to 1100 Rs which converts to €1 to €4.36, would that be right?

Seems much cheaper than turkey Netflix if so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,290 ✭✭✭-=al=-

Works out about €1.50 less for the standard plan. If you’re signing up new maybe try Pakistan but I won’t rock the Netflix boat. There’s stormy seas up ahead!

I wonder will they impose password sharing stuff on Turkish subscribers? Seems like they'll only try it on countries that'll go with it

  • Registered Users Posts: 103 ✭✭Big Daddy Kane

Hi, I just signed up to NETFLIX premium (Philippines) that works out around 9.25e a month.

I had a friend who let me use his phone number (lives here but uses Philippines mobile to get the once of code).

Seems to be working fine for me...

A lot more Anime choices and have all the usual US & European TV shows etc..

    Thanks OP

Having an awful time trying to change my payment details, argentina, verification code required

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,005 ✭✭✭shmeee

A while back I'd to update the card on my turkey account as previous one was stolen. So went in to update it and got loads of errors that it didn't work but then the money was taken out of my new card the following month. I tried everything to update the card - various browsers, VPNs, Netflix apps etc. And kept getting errors. So not sure what ended up happening and what method ended up working. So I ain't even going to go near it now for fear of it not working!

From this thread if seems so hit and miss the past 6 months, with what works and doesn't work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,112 ✭✭✭Redriddick

Got it to work but it's time to move, 16 euro for premium is a significant increase

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 400 ✭✭camz09

Lost my Revolut card and couldn't pay my monthly Netflix trl account.....it seems the chat agent method is also kaput in updating card details, even with VPN! Agent won't accept your details, instead give you a link to put in your new card details which will then ask to confirm with a Turkish mobile number 🥴 which I don't have....oh well, I guess bye bye Netflix for me

Have you tried a service like this https://www.freereceivesms.com/en/tr/ I never tried them so have no idea if they work. There are others if you search.
