Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Leftists who actually believe and insist that Islam is a religion of peace and lovey dovey towards all outsiders, when in fact the Islamic holy texts clearly state otherwise.

Most people grow out of smoking by their mid 20's. Of anyone older than that I know I only know one daily smoker you'd regard as successful and mentally together.

people who say smokers are not successful and mentally together. its the herd mentality i hate

All but one stoner I know aged over 25 has either spent a ludicrous amount of time unemployed or is not fully mentally together, or both. Things like keeping a half clean bedroom, wearing clean clothes, few interests beyond gaming, attending protests and spreading radical left wing links on Facebook, one lad I know was putting his brown bin full of general rubbish out every fortnight and was clueless as to why it was never collected (well that's not quite true, he'd be lucky to get the bins out once per month as he'd usually be stoned when the reminder text would arrive and wouldn't go outside to wheel them out), leaving doors unlocked, leaving lights on, losing keys. Things like that.

The problem with most stoners vs alcoholics, most alcoholics aren't permanently drunk. They don't drink first thing in the morning. They don't need a sneaky can on their lunch break to make it through the work day.

Stoners typically require a dose in bed, one before leaving the house, and one in work if they do work.[/quote]
You know a load of people who 'smoke' daily. You just don't know they smoke.

Anti religious people. Criticise the organisation but unless someone with belief is being self righteous or pontificating, stop talking down to people who have a belief system in place. You don't know what is happening to them and how important that faith is in helping them through

Another trope relied on in stoner culture is the insistence that a sizeable amount of doctors, business tycoons and other assorted high achieving go getters spark up every evening.

    They really don't.

Noel Gallagher said it best “I was getting halfway through writing a line of a song and I’d fall asleep because I was stoned. The day I stopped was the day my life began. I was suddenly clear-headed. I wrote 50 songs in two weeks. People go on about smack and Ecstasy, but I think draw is the scourge of my generation. I know loads of talented musicians who are still sitting in Manchester in their bedrooms, stoned, because they can’t be bothered to get off their beep.”8

Lots of people smoke but don't advertise the fact. Not everyone who smokes is a stoner, just like not everyone who drinks is an alcoholic. I do not smoke myself, BTW, or drink, but i know a few that do and function just fine. They don't smoke all day, everyday and don't make it known to all and sundry that they smoke.

    Why though?

Is someone not allowed to enjoy themselves? do you think the same for people who engage in same sex relationships?

if not, then how is using a substance different? it's their body.

These people have absolutely no idea if the man was harassing others, whether he had been spotted after being served by a staff member who banned him previously, lit up a smoke etc etc. No, there's just a knee jerk reaction that every single homeless person out there is some saintly character dealt a bad hand by the banksters and FG.

Whats that supposed to mean 😂sounds like you trying to say I'm a homophobe because I don't think people should be taking dangerous substances to have a bit of fun.

If you can't have a bit of craic without relying on drugs I don't want to be around you .you can fry your brain all you want but I'm not gonna respect you for it.
I seen friends become shells of themselves (may be a bit of an exaggeration but some people just dont react well with rec drugs)and some go down the addict path because they don't know when to stop.

Alot of them seem to rely on "smart" drugs too. Why the hell should I respect them for trying cheat their way through life.

Nevermind the permanent effects they are having on your brain chemistry.

Grown men who wear soccer jersies to the pub. I can understand wearing an Ireland jersey when they are playing, likewise your county colours, but 40-year old Jayo from Blanchardstown wearing his favourite Liverpool/United kit in to his local just looks strange. Doubly so when they have a players name printed at the back.

Is it just me or do far fewer people wear jerseys as casual wear compared to 10 years ago?

I don't know if it's anything to do with the general decline in both Liverpool and Utd in the last decade bar the odd good season, but I notice far fewer people wearing them.

Or maybe it's that Standard Chartered are the most eye wateringly boring sponsor name that has ever emblazoned a jersey.

For the good of society it's good to challenge perceptions. It's how we now live in a more tolerant society. For example, I was once of the opinion that the term marriage should be exclusive for heterosexuals, but changed my mind and by the time the vote came around I was strongly in favour of same sex marriage.

Of course, nobody in the history of the internet has ever had their mind changed :p
