Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Simple things you struggle with

What are things that are generally seen as simple by others that you struggle with?

For example It takes me ages to open bin liners. Just this morning it must have taken me at least 15 minutes to manage to open a black bag when changing the rubbish. It feels like I've no grip on my fingers, I can't click my fingers so I've generally put my inability to perform a simple task down to this but it can be quite embarrassing when asking people in work to open up a bag for me.

This stresses me out to no end, pity there's no duvet cover changer service that comes to your door.

Anyway my one is sleep, although things are improving lately.

A tip I read somewhere online suggested to rub the bag across a product in the cool section (like the salad/veg bags). It works!
Or if you carry one of those little bottles of hand sanitiser with you, just use a bit of that on your fingers.

I can’t blow up balloons. But if someone blows them up, I can tie them.

I’m 47, and I can’t read an analog clock. I understand the concept fine, but I can’t just look at one and instantly tell the time. Ive had a digital watch since I was 7, and I’ve never been in a position where I’ve had to rely on an analog clock to tell me the time.

Deal the cards out into a circle of 12 piles of 4 cards like the face of a clock.

Put the remaining 4 in the centre.

Pick up the card in the centre and put it face up under the corresponding clock position. Jack - Queen - King are 11 - 12 - centre.

Pick up the card in that pile and so on and so forth

Run - my brain won’t let me do it. I can run if playing a sport like tennis or football, or run after my kids, but ask me to just run and I just can’t.

Driving - it's not exactly simple to learn, but once you learn its like riding a bike & becomes second nature. But Jesus I hate driving.

Directions - hopeless with directions. Bad enough me trying to figure out how to get to where I've to go, but then to try find my way back, not a chance. Can't remember a single thing I've passed before. so its a whole new stressful task trying to find my way back.

I've a smart TV about 2 years now. Keep forgetting that I have all the apps on the TV & I still use my phone to cast everything. There's no need for the chromecast in the TV but I keep forgetting to take it out

Spring forward, fall back- this helps me remember. But I still have to work it out by saying “so what was 7am is now only 6am so I get an extra hour in bed” etc.

Your dog does a crap outside, you pick it up with your poop bag and eventually put it in the bin. You don’t leave the bag there. It’s plastic. It’s going nowhere!
