Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

maybe off topic but is it the retailer that 'takes the hit' for the moneyback?

I registered both cards one after the other, within a few minutes.

I'm only guessing, but as Visa are the promoters of this offer, they probably take a bigger hit, followed by Bank and then the retailer.

I would imagine the retailer has to be paying something towards it. it's not as if they don't know about it, they are basically advertising for business.

Still waiting myself... I did a shop on Saturday.

I can see the following on my account:

But no e-mail or reimbursement has hit the card yet.

Is that on the rewards page? I looked for it few days ago but didn't see it. My local topaz is not owned by topaz and payment is always a weird company name so don't know how they'd know it was topaz.

I selected the Topaz reward and there's a map showing nearest shops.

    - no security tokens
    - etc....

    OMG, when will they upgrade?

Sorry of off topic, just can't stand it anymore.
    whats a security token?

Registered last Thursday. Spent over the required amount in Boots and Topaz and did some online shopping in M&S over the weekend.

No emails, no money. Have sent them a message through the rewards site

Severe lack of patience being shown folks. If you spent money over the weekend it wouldn't have come off your card until Monday (even Tuesday). It's only Thursday.

There's pages of posts from people who at least got an email. I checked pending in my account and nothing. It's not impatience it's concern!

There are other posts from people who got no email but have the refund noted on their rewards account too though.

I'd be giving it more than 2/3 days before sending emails to them is all I'm saying. Banks move money slowly. Been a policy for decades.

I did my groceries in Lidl on Sunday, got the email late last night (this was with CC rather than DC). The transaction is listed under Offer History on the site now also. No money in the account yet.

The Lidl offer has now disappeared from my list of offers, so it looks like you can't use the same offer with two different cards from the same bank.

Interestingly, my PTSB card also has a Lidl offer (€5 back on €30 spend) and that seems to still be active. Just need to remember the pin for it now

I had 3 cards registered to the one account, I deleted 2 of them, And set up new accounts for each, Using the "adding the dot . with my gmail account"
Have offer available on all three cards now, So if you do loose the offer this is a way around it.

I heard about this on the radio today. They mentioned the Lidl deal is only for 2 weeks. So what happens after that? Is there no deal with Lidl or is it replaced by another deal?

My fear is you sign up for this (probably a 12 mth contract), you pay a little extra bank fees in the hope of getting rewards, only for the rewards to dry up

There's no contract. Whether the deals deteriorate or not it's better than getting nothing for your purchases which was the case

    Quick question.

I spent €60 on diesel in Topaz in county Limerick. When I signed up for rewards I selected my address as Limerick and it shows 5 or 6 stations around the city. I didn't buy the fuel in any of them.

I didn't get the cash back yet and it hasn't shown up in my offers retrieved or anything. I purchased maybe on Friday last week.

So just wondering do you have to buy from selected Topaz's in your vicinity?

There is stamp duty on all bank cards. If a bank isn't charging you it, they're paying it for you.

12c per transaction on ATM and debit cards capped at 2.50 (ATM) 5 (debit) a year
30 euro a year on credit or charge cards.

you arent really losing anything apart from the time to sign up. Maybe the rewards  will dry up but hopefully more rewards will be added and more shops will come aboard

There's no additional stamp duty, as you already pay for owing credit card or debit card. This is just a reward scheme at no additional charges.

Also went to boots yesterday and spent over 30euro, so should be due my fiver at some stage :) My fuel tank is also due a fill soon, so reckon I'll avail of the Topaz offer before the deadline :D

    yea I know all that

but Tilted Brain mention that accounts have stamp duty. no accounts incur stamp duty. stamp duty is on the cards as you point out

he questioned if there would be stamp duty on the rewards deals, but as above, stamp duty is per the card so not applicable

That's not a bad thing. The more people signed up for it, the more retailers will want to get on board with the scheme.

if you spend over €5000 on the card within a 12 month period and earn over €40,000, not exactly the target audience of people looking to get money off in Lidl. and I'm not in need of another credit card even though I pay it off fully per month.

I have this card and will gladly take the money off in Lidl :D

As someone who has gotten mails ... I spent money in boots on a Friday and got e-mail on Sunday.

Went to Lidl on Monday and got mail on Wednesday

Seems to be about 48 hrs give or take from transaction to getting confirmation e-mails

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,252 ✭✭✭JamesReeves

So I've used a couple of offers,

    Boots, Lidl, Butlers and Elverys

What sort of place would you like to see on it and what offers? Also do you think that it's just going to be Very good offers for the first few weeks until they get more people signing up then drop significantly to useless ones?

Anyone been a member of the PTSB rewards can you advise if the offers fizzle out or stay great?

They have the same topaz offer at the moment and 5 off 30 spend in lidl.

They have the h&m and boots ones also. Mostly it's similar to what AIB have currently.
