She is wasting her time if she runs. Trumps doing a brilliant job as President, economy soaring, jobs up, stock market up, starting to fix the absolute farce of a immigration system etc..

    Its the economy stupid.

She might. Just shows how much of an utter utter farce politics is. The whole thing like an episode of Dallas.

Amazing thing is many yanks so brainwashed so dumbed down now that they will think with Oprah as president their lifes will improve tremendously.

The whole country is a farce and their political system is a pantomime.

Look at the dummies who have been president or have run for president/VP in the last 35 years.

And the same old slogans get these chimps elected time and time again and the clueless Americans vote for them and still get shafted.

    "tough on crime"
    "take the country back"
    "no new taxes"
    "make America great (again)"

These losers whoop with glee when "their guy" gets (s)elected, their jobs get sent abroad, their water gets more polluted, their house gets repossessed, their diabetic mother's health coverage is slashed so they have to change her nappy and spoonfeed her and still they think that "their guy" is the man because he's not "the other guy"

    Cretins.

That's not exclusive to the U.S.

The same could be said of the perceived ideological divides of the political parties in Ireland.

Probably not as fashionable to say though.

I don't think it is in her, she might initially run then pull out after she has had her say. The first Female President of the US will most likely be a Republican at some point in the future

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

It's disturbing to see the amount of people that actually believe this, the damage this administration is doing to their own country and beyond could be irreversible

True, and people here almost incredulously elected a Dragon's Den judge as President of Ireland ahead of Michael D until Martin McGuinness's thankful intervention.

A f*cking multi-millionaire celebrity who lectures people; that'll go down well with the working class people who abandoned the Democrats in their droves.

Of course because she happens to be black and a woman the gobsh*tes in certain sections of the left will tell us it's automatically a good idea.

What are her policies? Her view on foreign and domestic policy?

Or is that based on her looking nice and smiley standing beside Barack??

I agree, but we all know the US political system is broken, and a wife of a former popular president with I'd imagine far less skeletons in her closet has a much bigger chance.

Political experience us clearly no longer a prerequisite for being president of the USA. A sad future we must now accept. Who has the bigger red button will decide the next election, and unbeknowns to Donald, Ophra is having an enormous one made in secret.

She wont. If she did she (like Meryl Streep) wouldnt be able to stay up on their sanctimonious high horses.

Too much baggage that Hollywood is pretending isnt there. Politicos would have no problem bringing it up (eg all smiles & happy with weinstein in golden globes 2016/ wearing black 2017)

Heard her speech on the radio last night. She actually sounds a lot like Obama in the way he delivered many of his speeches. Delayed, sort of broken up pronunciation of sentences with abrupt endings.

And she says nothing in her speeches, just like Obama. Although at this stage saying nothing is better than what Trump says.

No, she won't run; but yes she would win. There's unlikely to be evidence that she used her personal email account for politicaly sensitive messages.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

She might run, but would likely get defeated at the final hurdle.
Would face serious competition from a trio of female Democrats,
(Harris/Warre/Gillibrand) never mind the Rep's under a booming economy.

Saying that, the markets have her currently as 2nd favourite (after Trump) for 2020 at about 10/1.
If you exclude he media hype that numeral can be multiplied tenfold.

Bear in mind few of us were backing Trump late Summer of '16 at 25/1.
Even on the day he was 10/1 for a short period.
So Oprah chances are thus indicated as strong, but it's still a long while away.

One other possibility (independent candidates) could be the dreaded 'all knowing, all seeing: Zuckerberg'.

He's actually a distant relative of Abraham Lincoln. It's better than the hypocrite Oprah or sourpuss Obama going for it anyway.

Danny Dyer is a direct descendant of Edward II, but I'm not sure he'd be what the Royal Family are looking for if they needed a replacement.

She is - or was - good mates with Donald Trump, she had him on the show a few times and was often pictured around town with him. Nice publicity for Donald.

    Could be interesting.

If running Hillary was an own goal last time, this would be a disaster. The democrats have to run someone who has a chance of not only collecting all the traditional blue votes but hoovering up a large amount of the ones who turned to Trump in 2016 and all the undecideds too. A female black billionaire ultraliberal is a bit of a risky ticket, much riskier than Hillary was. And that's not even getting into the fact she's a complete political greenhorn.

I don't think it'll happen anyway. Oprah has a cushy life allowing her to pontificate whenever she likes without having to back any of it up. Unlike Trump she's smart enough to have an idea of what being the president entails for her and her family. Who in her position would take that on....

Might I suggest the following cabinet for Oprah:

    Vice President: Meryl Streep

Secretary for Health: Doctor Dre, M.D.

    Attorney General: Roman Polanski

    Secretary for Education: Kim Kardashian

    Secretary of State: George Clooney

Chairman of the Federal Reserve: Jay-Z

    Secretary for Health: Richard Simmons

    Press Secretary: Anderson Cooper

Think she interviewed Joe Bid recently for one of her tv/radio shows, must have gotten the notion to run since then.

Basically she's interviewed anyone of note over the last few decades,
and with around 40m Tw' followers (same as Trump), has some sphere of influence.

But what will the 2nd fav to win POTUS2020 her slogan be? 'tear down them walls'
    {and let Mexico saturate the southern states, free Espanola classes for everyone}

Screw it, I'll take the bait.
I'm saying the problem's not solved. I'm saying that, you know, that's the beauty of a film like "The Butler," and it's the beauty of a film like "12 Years a Slave," and it's the beauty of what we're seeing on stage with "Scottsboro Boys" is that it allows people to see where the root of the problem started. It allows people to see, "Oh, that's where it all started, this is how far we've come, and now this is how much farther we need to go." Of course the problem is not solved. You know, as long as people can be judged by the colour of their skin, the problem's not solved. As long as there are people who still, there's a whole generation -- I say this, you know, I said this, you know, for apartheid South Africa, I said this for my own, you know, community in the south - there are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die.
The "problem not solved" she's referring to is racism. There's unrepentant ex-concentration camp guards in their 90s out there - is it that much of a leap to suggest there's some racists out there who'll never be reasoned with?

Stock market is "up". How exactly does that equate to a booming economy?

And how is that border wall coming along? Considering conservative estimates put the timeframe of construction at about 40 years and the cost about $150 billion don't you think your boy in the Oval Office ought to get cracking? He's only got 84 months left and that's if he's reelected.

Trump will get another term after this. Democrats are so ****ing stupid trying to attack him that the don't realise that it didn't work the first time. Trump is setting the agenda.

Get a proper candidate. Warren etc have no chance, boring candidates. Gore and Kerry were the same as Hillary, they would put you to sleep.

And Currently the 2nd favourite, 10notes and a long (inflation affected) wait would only return 90 in 2020, a slightly ludicrous expectation.

The other left trio of female career Senators in good contention for this position must be pulling their hair out at well meaning Oprah rise to politician stardom.

Oprah's role is best suited to it's current stretch as a 'social-worker type quasi chat show infomercial host adorned with vision boards', not in the nitty gritty details of steel dumping exports and the like.

She's a billionaire media personality beloved by liberals the world over. She has every chance unfortunately.

Another symptom of how utterly deranged the U.S. has become as a nation.

Trump would beat her like a gong though. He'd have a field day with her admission of smoking crack cocaine.

    That's just for starters.

I hope she goes for it and does beat him. She would be a much better president and she is much more intelligent than Trump and I think would have more respect for the presidency and the American Constitution and all its amendments too. So yes go Oprah go for it. About time America has a Female leader.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.
