Normally put the drums into the bucket of the digger here and then I pour them in, it's the turning the drum upside down is the messy bit. Hate running out of heating oil

Look for the Castrol oil drums. They have a breather in the handle that allows air in as your pour. No need to turn it. They are hard found tho

Ya, they are a great job. No splashing of diesel.

    Christmas tree in situ,

a life long friend passed away a couple of months ago after a long battle with a very bad form of dementia, I spent many hours by her bedside with the family in the final couple of weeks.

Her daughter gave me a lovely angel ornament for the tree top and said " Mam will be watching over & celebrating with you"

thought it was a nice touch

Have to throw oil from drums into tank at rental, jez it’s a horrible job. Don’t want to order much for fear of theft.

If filling drums at pump yourself, only 3/4 fill.

When filling tank, use a large funnel. Lay drum on its side on top of the tank with cap towards top. Will stop the spurting as air can get into drum.

Getting the can up to that step is pure hardship! There are 12V fuel pumps that can be got for reasonable money, well worth it.

Get yourself a siphon pipe. Sit drum up on top tank Stick one end in drum other in tank. jiggle the pipe and away it flows. No spillages

Local shop sells drums of kerosene. Does a great trade in them. Often wondered what system the people who use them have for putting them in the tank, or Could you just feed the boiler direct from the drum like the detergent on the milk tank?

There’s a rig for running on drums but it costs €250.

Three local empty properties cleared over last week. Copper, rads, a new kitchen, appliances, heating, wiring.

These short days suit scumbags and thieves by giving so much cover.

    Yea.
I know a house where they cut the copper stubs for the rads level with the floor, every floor had to be ripped up. More effort for them than the wee bits of copper was worth.
