If certain parts of Dublin or indeed anywhere else go to a level 3 under the new Covid alert system do we know what effect it will have on Rugby within that area?

Sport will continue in Dublin. There would be absolute carnage if they tried to stop it. The only thing I could see is the possibility of no spectators in Dublin but again, I think they'll let it happen.

Well consider myself proved wrong. That is absolutely horrendous. If Dublin is in Level 3, no rugby is allowed essentially as it's non contact training and no matches.

As usual GAA get carte blanche.

Its not GAA get carte blanche. Its difference in physical contact etc while playing each sport...

Thats why GAA isnt classified as a contact sport. It is absolutely ludicrous. Rugby is close contact, not denying that. But GAA is not chess either.

I reckon AIL wise in Dublin the senior clubs will be alright.... the limits something like 200 spectators isn’t it? Or in and around that figure? Unfortunately even without this pandemic most clubs will struggle to get that at a regular league game maybe bar the odd Lansdowne v tarf fixture or nure v Mary’s might get above that at some occasions off the top of my head but 90% of fixtures wouldn’t get that I’d say so clubs should be alright I guess

Stage 3 for Dublin if it happens will mean no matches for at least 3 weeks.

AIL rugby to be considered elite sport in the Dublin lockdown - but only the community series. Not u20s or Metro league or junior.

So thats Tarf v Lansdowne in semi with winner to play DUFC in final

Watched Tarf v Nure on stream-Tarf won playing with 14 men for 75 mins as their 10 Con Kelly sent off after 5. Lots of niggle in the match and nure had 4 men yellow carded. Tarf in control playing wise for the majority of the match. Nure were disappointing.

Haven’t had a chance to watch the game yet but heard we were very poor and Clontarf were a different level.

Think they had Angus Lloyd at 9 and he ran the show.

They did but he only played first half

i had heard both UCD and DUFC for him. We'll see what happens, colleges are just starting. There might be less moving around this year as a lot of kids seem happy enough with their first choice but as the appeals escalate, could see some players move.

Probably where Nure will struggle with Glynn gone. Although t no Marsh or Melia plus a couple more for nure. Clontarf should be top 4 again this year. Young Munsters beating Con shows they may be up there.

We were missing a few lads, but nothing too hectic either. But just in key positions.

Was there any Tarf line up published?

I was at the Highfield-Garryowen match.
Garryowen started well playing in to the wind.Good ball retention and defence, leading 15-3 at HT.
They scored again to make it 22-3 but Highfield started to come back in to the match by winning a series of scrum penalties and some nice backs moves.
A draw was probably a fair result with the Garryowen 9 being the best player on view.
Highfield have recruited two big props and a hooker but same backline as last year.

Highfield recruiting big forwards. theres a surprise....

Saw some of Corinthians Ballina as was driving by and parked behind goals to see some of game. Very much feel of a pre season game in parts. very open, sides throwing ball around.
