Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

m.boards.ie has stopped working on my phone for the homepage - 502 bad gateway error or switches to www.boards.ie - and if I go directly to m.boards.ie/subbed it tries to force a switch to touch.boards.ie/subbed and then goes 404

Back working for me now. It's been on and off for the last hour or so.

Please don't leave me m.boards.ie, I'm sorry I tried touch, it meant nothing to me.

    I'm also on ios7...

If I switch to a "tab" that's has an m. page open since yesterday/earlier today it automatically refreshes and shows a touch. 404 error

    Stopped working for me too

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Haven't been able to use mobile site in about 2 weeks, redirects to boards.ie, have to go in via google app to get touch

Hmmm, interesting, works on Chrome for me but not on whatever the 'internet' browser is that came with the phone (Android).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,072 ✭✭✭OU812

Same here. Hate this "touch" version.

Would make me stop using boards on mobile (which is most of the time).

Oh please fix this, it's been driving me nuts since yesterday:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,285 ✭✭✭Stoolbend

Same here. On Android it redirects to touch.

It started redirecting to touch.boards.ie a little while ago for me, but now it's redirecting to http://oldcp.dnsmadeeasy.com/lostredirect.html

M.boards.ie no longer works on my nexus 7 or my Sony Xperia T. Has it been killed? Feckin hate using touch, it's far slower and clunky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,386 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

    Having trouble too with m.boards

Touch.boards only works on android if I change user agent to iPhone

Any other user agent redirects to full site

I love it, I don't want to use touch
    :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,845 ✭✭✭Jet Black

Still use it myself and glad to see people are still using it. Don't like touch because its slower, loads less per page and more ads. The ads are barely noticeable on m.boards.

    loads less per page
This and the lack of a direct link to the last page of a thread (from the parent forum) makes the experience using the touch interface frustrating for me.
Essentially, it takes more clicks for me to get to read what I want to read.

For the record, I have no access to m.boards.ie from my Android phone. Redirects to either www.boards.ie or touch.boards.ie depending on what I set the user agent to.

Another vote for 'Please keep m.boards.ie' here. 90% of the time, it's how I use boards.

    Thanks!

    Please sort m.boards.ie out!

Great lightweight browsing and I'm not bothered waiting for touch

    Thanks

People still use m.boards.ie? It reminds me of the really **** WAP sites the networks used to have back in 2002.

Yeah because the m.boards.ie is far faster to load on mobile. Touch is more of a resource hog.

Dav said earlier there was a problem and it was being fixed, and should be fixed for everyone today.. Also it's being stopped soon

just want to register my love for m.boards.ie

Sorry to whoever developed it but the touch site is a shiit piece and if I was forced to use it by m. becoming unavailable, it would basically stop me using boards on my phone.

Dafuq are you using to browse? A Nokia 3210?

I know you weren't addressing me but in case it helps the site developers or whatever - I use m.boards.ie on Xperia (Android - Chrome/Opera/standard browser), Blackberry (Opera/standard BB browser) and Nexus (Android - Chrome).

I love lightweight web browsing, no fluff/ads/bloat/nonsense. Apart from the nonsense I like.

    m. has two weeks (I'm putting a notice about this up now).

We ran into a problem that the lads were able to patch but it's not permanent. We're going to be shutting m. off in a couple of weeks permanently.

I'm genuinely stunned that so many people are still using m. - it's a horrible looking interface.

Sad to hear it but thanks for letting us know. I'll organise some kind of shutting down party where those of us who still use it can stand around sadly looking lost as flashy modern technology renders our once familiar world alien. Venue TBA.

No... it's a great interface. Lovely and simple when I'm on the phone which is all I need, not shiny buttons and displays and lights and things

Nooooo. Its much easier traverse the m. site on my phone (HTC One so it has a large screen) than it is to move around the full site. And the touch site is horrible.

When can we expect a Boards.ie App?

Really disappointed to hear your dropping m.boards. Find it much more consistent across range of mobile devices than the touch site. Even on things like readers or old phones it was the one site that always worked well.

I think some attempted to explain it to me before, but touch is a pain in the arse. Looking at the pages of new posts, click the next page, and some of the same posts are still there. I know there was other things, but I can't recall what they were! I really must start documenting my rants. :D

Not enough revenue being generated off it is my guess. The other one looks ****e & is buggy as hell.

    Missing m.boards.ie I find touch.boards too chunky

Very disappointed m is getting dropped, I dislike the touch design so much I won't be using boards on my mobile anymore which is what I use the most.
