Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah, well done to Tony Ten for being very honest about his thieving of hundreds of thousands of euros from the State. A great man indeed.

Ratings: “Leaving Neverland” Not a Ratings Smash for HBO, Beaten by “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “Beachfront Bargain Hunt,” Survivalists Show

And ironic that Roger Friedman is the author of the article. I'm not alone in the boycott. Channel 4 should have higher viewer figures, it's a bit of a trashy station.

Well it certainly wasn't for HBO. Ray is a dirty rat for letting that weasel Dan Reed on his show today. Channel 4 is a trashy channel so they probably will attract the chaff. Ray decided Michael Jackson was guilty on 31st January after listening to clearly a MJ hater go unchallenged on Liveline. The caller compared MJ to Hitler, brought up Jimmy Saville, Gary Glitter and others. Joe let him go mostly unchecked, apart from the Hitler comment. The lying rant starts at ~40:45.

Ray said right at the beginning of the show that he wouldn't play Michael's music ever again. Hadn't seen the show, nobody had outside of the Sundance festival. Didn't do any research, or fact checking. Just right there on the spot, made up his mind. He has no business being on the air.

Edit: And just so you know Ray, I decided there and then that I wouldn't listen to your show ever again. Had never watched his Saturday night TV show, never would.

Dunno. I thought it was an interesting interview. Then again always thought that Wacko Jacko was a creep.

And I wouldn't have thought that C4 is as trashy as some stations. Enjoyed watching Derry Girls the last few nights - is that trashy too?

I don't watch TV that much anymore but when I did channel 4 was always seen as more innovative and risqué than BBC or ITV. Unless something drastic has changed in the past twenty or so years, content wise there was always some quality programmes coming from it.

How exactly should he be ??? He's from South County Dublin, and his business is in Bray.
Should he adopt a North County Dublin persona, maybe a Finglas/Naul attitude...

I heard him on one of the American talk shows recently and he said "This is not about Michael Jackson, this is the story of two victims of abuse". Which I found about as believable as "It wasn't my idea to have a Jack Nicholson impersonator". Dan Reed's production begins and ends with Michael Jackson, if Jackson wasn't world famous then the documentary would not have been made.
Ray said right at the beginning of the show that he wouldn't play Michael's music ever again.

I'd say at the family meeting that it was decided for him by Jenny mutually agreed that Michael Jackson was now a bad man. Knowing Ray, he will be back playing Michael Jackson records this time next year - he's never been a man to stick with his convictions

Remember when he first joined RTE and he refused to hand off to Cheltenham, or his "leaving the country". The only thing that he has actually stuck with is being a complete c**t to the Nuacht team.

I hear Tubridy now on about "I guess we're now not able to play Michael Jackson songs any more really". Aren't they all so f**king virtuous.

Well I hope you apply the same standard to your own sports department then. Any production that the sex offdender RTE sports producer guy was involved in should not be shown on TV ever again. How about Ryan, Ray? Why don't one of you suggest that?

Yes, utter nonsense, very badly written and not proof read at all.

She had lots of pals to get her access to publicity and thats probably why the books were published.

I just felt too that hundreds and hundreds of people get terminal cancer and suffer in silence and its just as difficult for their families as it is for someone who was on the airwaves a lot talking about her illness.

Maybe not pre pubescent but Lorri Mattix was 14 when he took her virginity.

Ian Dempsey is another fan of Bowie. Getting a black star tattoo for some charity drive.

Last week D'arcy had some item about "Beige being the new grey" when it came to home decor. And he went on to explain how beige used to be considered boring and a bit vanilla.

The man didn't even realise he was describing himself.

This nonsense is taking things to a new level. I know radio stations in places have already said they won't be playing MJ music again.

How is that going to help anything?

By playing MJ music or listening to it doesn't make you a paedo or a supporter of them. Absolute crap of the highest order.

If RTE make that decision and make it official, I won't be listening to them again.

I think you should read a little about Lori, before condemning Bowie... or many of the other 'rock stars' of the period who 'knew' her.

I know that . Jimmy Page etc. David was well aware of her age too.

My point is, Ray, who won't play songs from a man who is accused of something has no problem playing music by a man who is well documented as having sex with a 14 year old girl.

I never liked MJ anyway and couldn't care less if I never heard him again. Bowie, I can take or leave him. On the other hand I love Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. Lot of history there too but I'll listen to their stuff till the day I die.

Many years ago I remember hearing Darcy on today fm soap boxing about the Eric Clapton I think after he played a gig in Kilkenny where the sound was a complaint of many concert goers. He then said it was inappropriate to play songs like Cocaine on the radio for what they convey and the use of the word. Then not a week later he's pumping out Republic of Loose song The steady song. There's a lyric in it " I bought some heroin and brought it to school".
It was time to hit the dial then.

So much this. Was on the Luas at the time and trying to contain my laughter as the man was espousing the advantages of magnolia.

He either has little sense of self-awareness or a sublime sense of irony.
