Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After I installed the Android 10 update, the OS has selected Chrome as my default browser.

Is there any way to set this to none? Used to be able to on 9 afaik.

Lots of links are now opening in Chrome instead of their app, like Amazon.

Settings -Apps - Default Apps..... select your preferred browser.
Also you can disable Chrome under apps

Also under Apps select Chrome and under Open by default you can clear anything opened by default

While we're at it, is there anyway to change Spotify on the lock screen?

I had it set up to unlock notifications on face unlock which is now greyed out. Used to be handy for skipping tracks and seeing a message etc.

Finally got the emui 10 update on P30 on Vodafone

Anyone know if you’d need a SIM in the phone to get the update? I’ve a Vodafone one but haven’t had a SIM in it at all in a good while and there’s not a sign of the 10 update on it.

What are the cameras like on the P20/P30 Lite series compared to the Pro series?

I've a P20 Pro and the camera is fantastic and a few family members are interested in Huawei as a result but as light Smartphone users the Pro series is out of their price range.

They aren't as good on the non pro version but I think they're supposed to be alright for the price range they are in. If photos are the main thing try get the Pixel 3A from Vodafone for €180 when it comes into stock.

Try update Hicare app in the Huawei app store then check for the update in that Hicare app. Worked for a few of us so far.

I've try the default HiCare App and still no update showing so it's not just you

Yeah I updated my HiCare app to the newest version before trying too and still nothing. Anyone have any luck with a different region?
This is why Android pisses me off in a big way sometimes.

I eventually updated mine through the hicare app but it took a couple of weeks after the first post on here to get it. I did a force stop and cleared the apps cache and a few days later I had it, unlikely to be related but worth a try. I checked my wife's phone (also p30) and she was on 10 already and it was an auto update. I'll guess it's a staggered roll out.

This surely has a simple answer... Got a new GoMo SIM card and can't get the internet on my Huawei. 'Mobile data always on' What needs to be (re)adjusted ? Chose GoMo3g as 'available network'. Thanks.

Have you set up new apn for network?

Good question - GoMo person on Facebook asked about that. In making sure that was ok, 'mobile data always on' was turned off. Turning it back on did the trick. Thank you.

Anyone know what this guff is about when I try to add my work email to the P30 Pro on the default email app?
I’ve added it to the default mail app on iPhones or Samsungs in the past without it looking for full control like this. Or is it just a stock message and can be ignored?

This allows your work to remotely wipe the phone or enforce policies on it, sim lock, screen lock etc.

I wonder why they only want control to block a huawei and no other brand.

We do it for all devices but totally depends on your company, are they US?

Is the P30 pro still worth getting? Coming from a OnePlus 5. Does it have the Google apps in Ireland?

It does have Google apps and definitely still worth getting. I usually change phone yearly and to be honest I'm struggling to justify changing from my p30 pro. It seems like all the new flagship phones this year are going to have the 5g capable snapdragon 865 which is going to add a premium as already seen with the S20 and xiaomi Mi 10. More phone announcements coming in the next few weeks and I expect the main topic of discussion to be about how expensive they are. 5G is fairly overrated for now due to limited availability and paying a premium for the plan. If its anything like 4g it'll be included in all plans and be more widely available within the next year or 2. So for 2020 I think any of the flagships from 2019 are the best buy.

When I'm watching videos on Facebook or YouTube the screen seems to be slightly zoomed as I sometimes can't see text at the bottom on the video screen. I didn't change anything. Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance

Pinch the screen to reduce aspect ratio to original

Is Google Maps timeline working for people on this phone?

It used to when but I think it stopped when I updated to Android 10 in December.
Location setting are on, maps app is not battery optimized. Cleared cache too and updated app.

Any ideas to kick-start it again?
Weighs an uninstall and reinstall help here?

Yes working fine for me. I'd say Google it, probably an obscure setting somewhere

I used the phone for one weekend recently (was away and didn’t want work phone on the go) and it picked up nothing on my timeline either.

I got it to work using

Settings -> Privacy ->Advanced ->Google Location History ->Choose Account -> Devices on this account -> (this device) -> tick checkbox

This had been unchecked but when I checked it, location history started to update

Have been waiting a while for these. But was hoping for headphone socket, alas rumour says only the P30 will have one, not the Pro. Also rumoured not to be 5G , which is a shame as I would have hoped to have this phone for 2-3 years
Now 1 year pasted, Amazing P40 series coming

Huawei's primary market is China which dwarfs the rest of the world. Europe and the US is a drop in the ocean for them. At least they're still pushing the envelope hardware wise so others may follow
