Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

While that one is harsh, it's preseason for the refs too.

I do think a change has to be made in the game, and it will take time to get it right. Lessons need to be learned from rugby, and how tackling is done there, although it's definitely more difficult to tackle somebody who's stacked in pads and a helmet than it is without.

Perhaps that's the future. Strip back the pads and helmet, alter the rules even more to only allow rugby style tackling, and go from there. Taking helmets away from the linemen would be tough though. They do get slapped across the ceann about 40 times a game...

At what point do you say the players know the risks involved in playing? At what point does a player take ownership of their decisions? A player knows that they risk paralysis if they tackle with the crown of the head, yet you still see it happen. At what point do you say, "ok, that one is on you"?

I'm not ashamed to say my allergies hit me watching Brian Dawkins get his own gold Jacket tonight. The other was Jerry Kramer who shouldn't have had to wait anywhere near this long.

Titans sign Kenny vaccaro, Reid had to reschedule his visit, was supposed to be today. Guess the Titans didn't want to wait

Training camp tip for Offensive Rookie of the Year -

Courtland Sutton - WR - Denver Broncos.

The guy is catching everything thrown his way against a very good defence.

Denver Broncos fan picking Denver Broncos player for RoY award shocker....!!!!

Based on 2 weeks of training camp. Seriously??

It'll be hard to win anything as a WR with Case Keenum underthrowing everything.

Don't think that I ever touted an offensive rookie from the Broncos before - and here is another tip - 7 days into Training Camp -

Defensive Rookie of the Year - Bradley Chubb - OLB - Denver Broncos.

Wait till you see him in pre season action against a live defense, team's in practice are working on there weakness not there strengths, so easy for anyone to look good,

Even if this isn't part of your annual hyperbolic pre season Broncos talk, it'll be pretty difficult for any rookie WR to get a Offensive Rookie of the Year title while trying to get targets behind two veterans like Thomas and Sanders. Even if he is good he'll be overshadowed by a rookie in a better situation, most likely a QB or RB.

It's broncos will be the best at this it that every year or they will be better dumping Payton Manning after the Super Bowl loss broncos are a good team but if you keep overhyping them constantly its fairly tough to take anything seriously

Just the 33 minutes for the speech.

I've to watch the parts of the HOF I didn't see. I didn't and won't watch ray Lewis speech but I've seen he had a mic that meant he could move around and he's probably do a preacher gig. I liked the randy moss speech and TO did his from Tennessee which they showed some of it seems. Jerry Kramer was brilliant. That man is a legend. I didn't hear Brian Dawkins speech but I get the impression it was superb.

Seeing as people were complaining about Ray Lewis speech, This is a proper hall of fame speech from Bob Uecker , broadcaster for the Milwaukee Brewers.

2:30 to 3:00 is the best bit.

Bob uecker is brilliant. I laughed watching it. Bob costas speech this year was good but a bit windy.

TO and Lewis, two speeches I'd no interest in listening to.

Had to turn Moss' speech off after about three minutes. I can't handle the intense bible quotes and 'praise be Jesus' stuff.

Seeing all the chat about the Ray Lewis speech reminds me I bought his autobiography. There is almost more in it about his high school wrestling than football.

He is more proud of his wins in wrestling that what he achieved in football. Individual sport I guess, fair 'nuff

Even if you are a Ravens fan there are better Ravens books out there.

Thought that was a good read myself, good insight into the behind the scenes operations. Feinstein is a brilliant author.

    Kyle Shanahan's playbook!

(my apologies, I don't actually know)

This breakdown is damn cool and informative, however. Kollman knows his stuff. Really in depth stuff here on the Jags defenive scheme.

Just after watching episode 1. Looks to me like Hue Jackson is very much in the Joe Philbin category of coaches - a really likeable guy who the players like, but not at all charismatic or authoritative. I think there needs to be an element of fear in a good head coach, and he just doesn't have it. Still, a really likeable guy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,972 ✭✭✭mikemac2

I hope he's not like Joe Philbin. He came across as so weak on that series

Telling Matt Moore he would not be starter but couldn't tell him why, couldn't give areas to improve and just said that's how it is. Ok

Serious question. Can anyone tell me where i can get 10% interest for the next 7 years?

Man that was a dull episode. Cubb was treated like **** but the cameras never went back to him? 4 days of footage and the RB group showed nothing? Where was the footage of Calloway and higgens tearing it up? Although I guess there will be a lot more football footage next week.

I imagine Hue's losses had a lot to do with the episode's content. Condolances to the man but I honestly thought Haley was gona rip him a new one. I will honestly be surprised if he lasts the season. He appears soft imo.

"Bless em"??? Child please. Landry was so forced for the cameras. In saying that his attitude off season has been spot on that the lad can do what he wants.
