Is anybody heading out the thursday with american airlines. Both times i flew with aer lingues to gatwick then to las vegas both times disasters ss the stop ovef was only an hour and a half and both times aer lingues was delayed. I went with american airlines as you clear customs in Dublin so its less stress.

And the hotel deposit on check-in.... use a credit card if you have one as it will put a hold on your funds if it's a debit card.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Yeah i'll be using revolut card over there to save a few quid on bank charges.

I use the currency cards from the post office only bad thing is the hotel was charging $7:00 every time i used machine i found it easier then carrying everything in cash over with me tho.

Pay my Revolut card works well but is a pain with the tipping and having 2 transactions pending for each meal. I’ll go half cash half Revolut card and use CC for the hotel hold. Fexcocurrency are good for over the counter cash at your local credit union. Usually a tick better than an post/banks although Revolut 3% or so better there’s limits to withdrawals without charge. Casino royals mid strip ATM is cheapest afaik. Get atm cash at your stopover airport

Post office have a bad exchange rate and say no fees. Just to be aware. Hopefully only time I will need cash will be to buy some chips for poker.

    Revolut is an absolute must.

Have a spare ticket for UFC 229 - trying to sell it through AXS.com but it's asking for a US bank account.

Anyone know any way around this? :-/

Don't forget to slip the hotel receptionist a note, you may get a room upgrade. All you can do is ask. I've been successful twice

I need to decide between MGM Grand and MGM Park tonight, tough choice as stayed in MGM Grand 3 times absolutely love it however change is good and Park is cheaper. Reviews scaring me on Park as its being finished off.

MGM park has automated check in desks not sure how to slip it a note though....

Has anyone stayed in Excalibur before? Thoughts? Depsite being to Vegas numerous times I’ve never actually gone in there, I don’t think. As Joey above I’m going to finalise accommodation this weekend.

Excalibur wise I was only on the casino floor for the cheaper blackjack during the day. Its fine. I have may hotels booked since May as I was going to Vegas for 229 no matter who was fighting so book a couple with free cancellation. The not being fully finished is annoying me on the park mgm however I'd expect the fighters to stay there also. So better opportunities to meet some of them.

Stayed in excalibur twice and will be staying there again for the fight i like it big casino floor rooms clean very good for the price as its central to everything and right across from the areana. Resort fee per room a night is 35 dollers a night per room hope this helps any more questions im happy to help.

Stayed in Excalibur for Aldo fight. Absolutely fine. The tower facing out onto NYNY was only refurbished at the time I was there and rooms were quite big and comfortable so if you can get a room that side then do. I preferred it to NYNY anyway in terms of room quality.

Ugh, wish I was going this time. Enjoy folks!
