Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm looking at this monthly chart from accuweather.
    http://www.accuweather.com/en/ie/dublin/207931/july-weather/207931

Anyone have any insight as to when would be a good bunch of days to take off work?!

    :D

    The last 7.......

Failing that go immediately, although the weather is set to cool off by 4 or 5 degrees over the weekend, it will remain very good by Irish standards out to 12 days or so from now, possibly warming up again to current levels in a weeks time

Beyond that there would be little certainty

    Thanks loads!
I can't afford to go abroad so I'll be in my element if I pick good days to take my leave on :)

I think people would be mad to take a foreign holiday this summer. This is the best country in the world when the sun is out. Enjoy your holidays. :)

I absolutely agree. We were on the beach in Wexford yesterday and the water was clear, really warm and the sand was perfect - just gorgeous! It was like being in the caribbean, you know with that lovely warm breeze that we so rarely get in ireland. When I get home I'll post some pics

The Fairy Godmother would want a pretty big wand for that to come to fruition!

    Be hotter than florida lol

How likely would it be to happen to even hit the mid 30s here

Considering we haven't gotten anything higher than 33 since 1887, mid-30's would surely be a 1 in several hundred years event.

    So not very likely...

But its been 126 years since then so maybe were overdue for a scorcher
but i think anymore than a day or 2 of it would become to much for a lot of people

He means nothing, Just trolling along as usual. In winter he wants warmth in summer he wants cold.

Latest GFS is out to next Friday and there's no sign yet of this ending.

At the moment there is a loose consensus for slack low pressure influence with an airmass originating from mid-Atlantic and cool upper temps, which for the bank hol weekend would give us mostly average temps 16-20C with a fair bit of cloud, maybe some mist and drizzle with some sunnier breaks. Fairly benign overall, but a long way off the warmth of the last few weeks

    However, that is just FI!

Looks pretty decent up until then aswell with the exception of tuesday/wednesday/Thursday this week which may see a small low cross over us, after that, high pressure does seem to attempt to build until that Wednesday! :)

There's a Spanish Plume that runs between Brittany and the Celtic Sea.......

Still a great trend from the weekend onwards

Looking good for 3 or 4 good summery days but ECM has somewhat of a breakdown going into the weekend of next week. Still all to play for.

If anything any sort of predicted hot spell has been fading off the charts for the last few days, I'd say there's ok weather coming up, some decent days, but very mixed. No heatwave, no prolonged and stable high pressure, plenty disturbances apparent and cool uppers establishing themselves out in FI..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,363 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

Agreed, the weather isnt going to improve more than a shade or two above what we have now, mild topping out at 21 or so, quite a bit of cloud, humid and the odd shower, could get breezy enough too - good for farming, unspectacular for heat and sunseekers

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Harps

All depends on the position of that low, a heatwave definitely looks off now but if the low is far enough to our south it could still drag up some very warm air. The Atlantic still looks very quiet so no conveyor belt of frontal rain on the horizon at least, a warm and mostly dry week would be my bet

  • Registered Users Posts: 167 ✭✭Timmyboy

Since this is FI, I'm not sure that the post goes in here but I do sense from the latest run of ECMWF that we are going to be starting a fine weather period, with high mild/warm temperatures and mostly clear and sunny dryness from beginning next Tuesday/Wednesday.

Bear in mind that since this forecast is outside of the 5 day time limit that it could blow up. But I sure do hope not.
