Sunday evening with a bank holiday feeling tomorrow

Have you been productive in isolation?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,009 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

Yes, I got a room decluttered today, the bin is full. More tomorrow.

Are you saving much money now there's not really anywhere to spend it?

What made you smile or laugh today?

Trying to kick my dogs tennis ball across the garden.. missing three times in a row and my partner teasing me all the while.

    What about you?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,153 ✭✭✭jimbobaloobob

I watched porpoises break the water in an early morning move. I was walking along the coast at sunrise and sat to take in the silence.
    Hard not to smile.

What song is stuck in your thoughts right now or recently?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

My friend made me laugh by describing his misspent youth, especially a run in with a thuggish Mr Universe contestant who was too big for his boots. When he got into trouble as a teenager, a judge told him that he was "known to evil". Now at 56 and fully reformed, hes looking after his dad who has Alzheimer's. Today his dad asked if he was staying out of trouble and said, very solemnly, "you are known to evil!".

Song: Bad Liar by Imagine Dragons.

Are you reading any good books?

Do you like the Scottish accent?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

I can take it or leave it.

Do you know when the new Outlander book is coming out? :D

Yes love it. I find it very lyrical. Along with the Welsh accent.

    edit,. sorry I don't.

I read today of a direct link between too much earwax and dementia. I said wtf!

Yes. Part of my job. And it makes people feel good when you remember their name after a few months gone.

Do you think you should refresh the page before posting your reply?

I thought I was the only person who gave out about that :)

Will you escape your house prison tomorrow?

I need a few essentials so yes. I have left the house for 35 minutes total since Sunday. I have good positive mental health always so I don't mind.

I wasn't giving out to Ruby btw. Just a gentle reminder, as much to myself.

What's the nearest plant to you now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

Celandine. At my feet in my riot of a lawn. I'm enjoying a cigarette.

I'm gonna let it grow out , I would normally get it cut every 4 or 5 weeks

How often would you go the barbers/hairdressers?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,009 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

    Every 10 weeks usually.

Has your social life been turned upside down by this crisis or is pretty much normality for you?

Once a year. I keep my hair long.

    What colour is your hair?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

Its thrown a spanner into the works, in many ways. This was going to be the first summer I had real freedom and we had lots of plans. I haven't given up hope that this thing can be turned around at the eleventh hour.

I am very used to being isolated and restricted for long periods, though. It's not getting to me too much.

    Edit: Red/gold/blonde now.
Opinions of front lawn vegetable gardens? (Recently un-banned in Florida)

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

In your front garden? Have you completely lost the plot? Sheer and utter madness. You're doing it on purpose to annoy me! I never heard such a ridiculous thing in all my bleeding life! What wiil the neighbours think? I'd sleep with one eye open if I were you!

    Any spare carrots?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

If you can hold out for 3 months I'll have some in every colour of the rainbow.

Do your neighbours copy each other?

    I don't have neighbours.

    Do yours?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

I think they are at the moment. One had their windows replaced, then the other...then the tarmac driveways...one had the exterior paint stripped, so did the other...the first left it around 6 weeks to repaint, now theother seems to be waiting to repaint. Unless there's a practical reason to wait.

Last time you walked in woodland?

Last weekend (there's a small woodland nearby)

What do you think of fairy doors?
