I absolutely do not believe that a business with such a high turnover is not corrupted in any way.
I did some of my own research recently and calculated there's over 50% chance to hit Number 8 according to the last 8 draws. Selected Number 8 for the 30th Jan draw and guess what - spot on.

Please apply that research to the next draw and give me a number with a 50%chance of being selected.

Nope, it's fairly easy to do - just very time consuming, that's all.

Take your time. You can do your research on any future draw, just let me know the selected number in advance.

I'm repating myself here but can i point out that the precourser of the National Lottery,The Irish Hospital sweepstakes was totally corrupt.History repeats itself.

The lotto are leaving themselves open to this speculation about a fix by having a computerized simulated draw.People who scoff at the possibility of a scam would do well to remember the fraud that was the Irish hospital sweepstakes.

I agree, this would lead to nothing but controversy. Surely it can't be that expensive to maintain and run a big plastic bubble with balls bouncing around inside of it?

yes i am betting on a single numbers, and i will try to explain again. but do not asume the national lottery have no way of knowing how much is wagered on particular balls, or in fact what bets go on at the bookmakers.

    ok here we go.
    1. i bet on the seven ball draw.
    2. i increase my bet every time to cover the last bet. if i loose.
    3. i waite for a ball not to be drawn for 25 concecutive days before i place my first bet, 25 days is very rare.

there are 39 balls and 7 are drawn., which is a 1 to 5.6 chance of coming out.to make it easy, lets say 1 in 6.
so if a ball has been missing for 25 days if is 4 times over due.

look at a web site lotteryGen. look at home page, scroll down. look at balls missing sice last appearance. ball 46 missing for 23 draws is there longest missing ball, and remember there are 49 balls not 39.

as from 5th feb. irish daily millions main draw.(7 ball draw). BALL 3 has now been missing for 38 days.

i have been betting on this ball since the 25 draw.

irish daily millions (second draw) ball 13 also went 38 days before it came out (last month)

this is not an isolated incedient, balls in the daily millions, even though there are only 39 seem to go missing for far longer, and the game is only a few months old.

Now go to lotteryGen. click on by frequency, top left hand side. scroll down and look at 'apperances over last 12 draws'.

I concur with other members who think the draw is a computer simulation.
Your applying the martingale system to the lottery. Your completely crazy, and your understanding of probability is totally wrong. Stop before you destroy yourself with gambling debts. You lack a basic understanding of how the event works and how your bet works.
Then when it doesn't work your putting it down to an independent bookmakers basically fixing the lottery to stop your number coming up. Why would the national lottery care if paddypower lost a few quid?

This is unreal this whole thread.

Martingale aside, I do believe the lottery have a lot to answer for. Their sleepers are used to fund their own marketing - that in itself is unethical. Also, there has never been an audit done on their scratch cards to prove that they are abiding by fair gambling standards.

I do enjoy seeing people quash these systems that people convince themselves are working! It's strange how people don't seem to grasp the concept of 'individual events'. Yes, there's a 1/1,024 chance of tossing a coin and getting 10 heads out of 10, but if I get 9 heads in a row, that doesn't mean there's a 1,023/1,024 chance of getting a tails next. It's always 1/2. Unless it's a double headed coin.

Incredible thread. I severely doubt the claims of rolling bets up to 200 quid are really being made on the Lotto based on dodgy mathematics, because if it is true I fear for humanity.

i worked for paddy power for 4 years for my sins and i am sorry to say the logic and maths used by people when gambling weather the lotto, football or what tie the minister of Finance will wear on budget day is shockingly bad at the height of it and looking at the poster who is using a martingale system stop gambling straight away. at worst of you wud never use it on anything that aint a 50/50 shot.

At least in sports using maths isn't completely irrelevant, form and stats can have an impact on the result of a match, but finding information that the bookie hasn't already found is a longshot in itself.

But trying to apply maths, or a 'system' to something like the lottery, or roulette is just plain silly. Even in the fairest games in the casino that give the odds little to no advantage (roulette being the best of these), you are still more likely to lose all your money than to double it (just about).

Anyone know when the top prize was last won? I do this most days and never seems to be a winner on either the main or the plus draws. I only remember seeing a top prize winner once and thats going back roughly a year ago. Would much rather see a live draw daily rather than the numbers just popping up on our screens at 10pm.

The odds of winning Ireland Daily Million jackpot are 1 in 3,262,623. If not many tickets are being sold then the odds mean it won't be won often. I don't think seeing the draw live will change that.

Well there seems to be some sceptics here regarding the way the draw is played. If it was done live like the lotto is you might see more tickets being sold. Anyway I'd love to know when it was last won.

Daily millions was launched in Sept 2012 and the to prize of €1 million was won on the night the game was launched YES the first night (with approx 1,000 3# winners which is typical enough).

The top prize was won 2 maybe 3 times but not since December. I'm not one for conspiracy theories and I'm not a skeptic by nature but I believe this game is inherently flawed. Without getting back into probability of numbers reoccurring etc. this game cannot be bona fide.

Inherently flawed, not bona fide? I don't know what that means. If approximately the same number of tickets were being bought for the Daily Millions as the main Lotto then the jackpot would be won approximately the same number of times. And the other prize categories would be in the same ballpark also. But if you compare match 3 for the two games Lotto has 30,000to 45,000 winners per draw, Daily Million only around 1,000.

That is the simple reason that the jackpot is not being won, too few tickets being bought. That is also the reason that tickets bought in Ireland very rarely win the Euromillions jackpot. The odds are against it.

I still cant see why they dont broadcast the draw. A simple stream on the website would suffice and probably result in more ticket sales.

I don't have an issue with the fact that the game is not streamed on tv. I understand Telly Bingo is played at 11am, the results are compiled and broadcast at 12:45. I find it difficult to accept Daily Millions is credible when it was won the night the game was launched and hasn't been won for the last 68 consecutive days.

The fact it was won on the first draw would be helped by the publicity and hence sales of ticket for that draw. Tickets sold the for weeks leading up to launch would only be for that single draw while tickets bought now would be for todays draw (no accumulation of ticket sales)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 MaosAm

I take your point and would accept that logic if there had been a greater than average number of winners in the 3 no.s Category on the first night but there wasn't. 74 days and counting. I'm sorry but no one will convince me that Daily Millions isn't a scam.

I doubt it they never advertised it until the day it started as I remember because All or Nothing and Monday Million were still running.

Daily Million Plus was won last night. Sold in the West. Think that's the first time it's been won.

The Daily Millions plus prize was won in 2012 but last nights win was the first top prize win in 2013 (133 days).

It has to be a scam. Its just another way to bleed the poor or the stupid and I fall into both of these titles. Best way to avoid getting ripped off again is to stop playing it. I never knew how bad it was until I looked at these threads.

Hardly a scam. All national lottery draws, and I'm sure this one will be no different are independently observed by KPMG, and if it is using a random number generator, that will have had to go through rigorous testing before being approved.

That's grand so, sure KPMG have no history of corruption or incompetence.

I can't believe that Daily Million hasn't been won since October. I quite regulary play Daily Million but what makes me a bit suspicious is that i checked on their website and there's even a draw on christmas day, there would hardly be anyone working in lottery hq or anyone from kpmg working on christmas day.

Look at last nights sets of numbers. 4 of the 7 numbers 'drawn randomly' are the same ; 14, 21, 32 & 37.
That has happened a number of times in this game. Out of 39 numbers 4 of the same numbers came out in both draws

And what are the odds of that?

Out of curiosity, what do you think the benefit is to the "fixers" of having 4 of the 7 numbers come out in both draws?

Daily Million has to be a scam. I have gave up playing this game because I think its a fix. I think Daily Million is only a clever income stream for the lottery because of the recession. There is one thing that makes me strongly believe thats its a fix is that there is even a draw on christmas day, which makes me think the numbers are being picked by a computer. The reason for this is that no other lottery draw takes place on a christmas day, for example, if Christmas day was on a Wednesday the lotto draw would be left to the next day.

Why dont they stream the daily million on there website by a draw drum, they want to do it by rng so they can manipulate it, if this is not the case stream it on the lotto website by a draw drum.
    A pure scam.

Well, adding fuel to the fire that there's no one on 'watch', this draw form should have been online since 9AM SUNDAY and is still not online. They were notified yesterday evening http://www.lottery.ie/lottocarcrazy/

Like most things, it comes down to Possibilitiies and their Probabilities. I will agree that the rate of play is lower for DM and the lack of jackpot rollover can leave them exposed on a win. So the model is different. But still I get a bad feeling about this game. And I even managed to win e250 on the Plus game. Which I almost religiously never play.

Daily Million top prize winner tonight, ticket sold in Dublin. I doubt it's a scam i'd say the only reason that it isn't won very often is because there isn't an excessive amount of tickets in any given draw, the same way that an Irish ticket very rarely wins the EuroMillions Jackpot.

No it wasn't won. They said it was won. I bet there isn't a peep in the red tops about it. Also, it was supposedly won on Saturday, the day the least amount of folks do it. Nice and subtle. The only time I'm convinced its won was twice - once in Clifden (supervalue, they showed a picture of the shop) and about 10 months ago or so, could be longer in Thurles (they also showed a picture of the shop)
