Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pedro Pascal is out of season 4 :(
Star Pedro Pascal is no longer starring in the series, Netflix confirms. It’s unclear if his character will not appear in the new season at all, but he’s definitely no longer starring.

2 great additions! But are you sure about Pedro?! That's a massive loss! He WAS season 3!

This going to be the most made up series yet?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

Got to episode 8 of 1st series.

Think I am 2 episodes from home and then I see that there are 3 more series.

    I'm out.

It felt like I was watching a computer game.

I would guess so. Hope it's not spoiled. Hugely enjoyed the first three series. May have been better to leave it there, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

It's seemingly based on the Guadalajara Cartel and their leader Félix Gallardo

I think the El chapo story would be as good as Escobar in one or two I watched an episode on Netflix about him tonight they could easily make 2 series from him alone.

Netflix are already showing the ‘El Chapo’ series, which has 3 seasons. I doubt they’d see the value of funding another season based around him.

I thought the last one ended with Penya been asked about Mexico? Must have dreamt it ha ha

    It did end like that.

He had returned home and was talking with his father who lived on the border both hinting that The Mexican border would be the next big drug war.

No hint that he would be back to fight it.

Will they release episodes weekley or the whole new series will be out November 16?

It did. The popular theory is that he'll be back for the next season once they finish this earlier story (it's set before Pená would be involved. The real Pena actually was never involved with this at all IIRC).

    Ah ok! Cheers

If it's starting in 1980 it's probably dealing with Felix Gillardo and the beginning of the Guadalajara Cartel (the 1st proper Mexican cartel). They were shipping heroin and grass to the US until Escobar's Medillan Cartel started using them to bring in Cocaine via their routes in the early 80's.

So Pena and Murphy would've been in S. America during this coming season.

    Season 3 dropped today.

Yeah i got the first episode just there but I'm currently watching season 3 of El Chapo so might give this a miss for a few weeks. It'll be interesting to compare the two. I'm really enjoying El Chapo btw

    Full season in 1 go.

It is "renamed" Narcos Mexico though

5 episodes in and it’s going good so far, strange to see Pablo and co in the series

    I'm liking it

They do tend to be a bit formulaic if you can bypass that

Routine cast of characters and the bad Mexicans are summarily executing each other on the spot

I really liked this season. Dont wanna spoil the ending but the setup was a little contrived but im not complaining.

    SPOILER

the contrast between the clear cut office types like kiki and the dea and the rough looking navy seals means next season is going to be action packed

    That was my Saturday.
Moved on with El Chapo Series 1 on netflix
which kind of feels like it goes on where Narcos Mexico season 1 stopped.

Sicario is pretty much a sequel to Narcos Mexico

    Recommended movie

Was Felix wife right that girl in the Gallery was carrying Felix’s child?

He didn’t deny it. It wasn’t confirmed either way.

It’s a while since I saw Sicario but I’m not sure how it could be a sequel other than it deals with the US v the cartel. Narcos Mexico (season 1, presumably) finishes in 1985 storyline wise.

So I’m guessing the cop who found Felix in the end turned crooked and took his deal. Shame, I really liked that cop.

Poor Kiki and his family, that was horrible.
