Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dublin's chance is increasingly through the evening for some snow as winds tend to go off shore.

Would pairc ui chaoimh fall under the real pitch category

Sadly it purports to. Might cut up a bit today if matches weren't moved to Pairc Ui Rinn

No doubt the precipitation will be lacking by then though?

    Snow-screen.jpg

The display screen on my camera after coming in out of the blizzard.

The snow is light and fluffy and defying gravity in turbulent swirls.

Down to 2 degrees in Cork City now but feels bitter outside with winds gusts, Cork Airport says they are around 41kts. Meanwhile waterford is at 5kts and kerry at 7kts according to recent reports. Very localised it seems.

We had huge flakes falling earlier , then swirling smaller ones . Now it's a mixture of both , there has been no let up for nearly two hours . Portlaoise .

Temp just hit 0c in North Kildare. Heavy to very heavy snow now (and I don't use the term "very heavy" very often) and sticking to all surfaces.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,752 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

    Finally it is snowing.

Snow starved Dublin might finally get in on the action in the next few hours. Won’t stick but it will be nice to see it falling all the same

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,220 ✭✭✭pad199207

Heavy Snow in Kildare. Readily sticking

Surprised by a lack of upgrade to Orange warning. Many parts of the midlands are being pasted now. Traffic is crawling on parts of the M4, M7 and M9. There's a crash on the southbound carriageway on the M7 near Portlaoise and the road is blocked.

Temperatures are getting very close 0c in a lot of places. I think people need to be provided with updated warnings that reflect this situation as there's a lot more snow falling in some places than anticipated.
