Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Snow sticking in North Offaly now

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,015 ✭✭✭John.Icy

This 'proper' snow boll*x needs to stop.

It's snowing and sticking readily in a lot of areas, even to below 100m asl.

A write off for Dublin however. Still 3 degrees here in D9. We needed the turn to be earlier as the precip no doubt wont be at much later.

Interesting few hours coming up for some with heavy settling snow in situ...

Just got a photo from my sister. Snow is sticking in Naas.

Heavy snow kk Laois border roads, grass, everything covered and well covered. Snow swirling and being blown around by gusts of wind. Very unexpected, but I’m gonna break out the kids sledges and puddle suits and make the very most of it for them

No snow in Cork but the amount of rain we go over the past few days :O

Went for a drive a while ago and there was more surface water than i've seen in quite a few years. Streams were overflowing and farmland extremely flooded in places.

Interesting to see the temperature variation around the country at the moment, Johnstown, Belmullet and Malin Head showing 10C, 9C and 8C respectively, while the majority of others are down to 3C or below.

At lunchtime they were saying no significant accumulations away from high ground, what sort of forecasting is that :p
Many major roads are covered and big towns

Sleet now in Dublin 16. 2.4c DP 1.4c now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,862 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

Not to sound smart but if people could post their location it would be great in case others are heading that way.
Not much point saying "loads here and the roads are slippy"... Not a great help to those maybe having to head out.

Edit * very heavy here at kingswood heading into Dublin on the N7*

Snow falling in Ashbourne, which I didn't expect from the radar pictures. Not sticking at present, large enough flakes, and heavy enough to be nice to watch, but still surprised to see it today.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
