Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. What's up with premier Sports feed? Keeps going off
It's completely gone now, going to have to find a stream despite paying for premier sports.

EDIT: Seems to be working now.

That looked a pen, sure he was in an offside position but Eriksen didn't even attempt a pass it essentially deflected into Lukaku's path

AC Milan appear to have turned a corner, they looked pretty impressive I have to say.

Have to say Eriksen has been a big disappointment since going to Inter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭irishguitarlad

I think Inter need a creator in midfield. I thought calhanoglu and Kjaer were excellent for Milan.

I was just going to say this, they are crying out for a player like him. Conte must not like him or he just might be poor in training. His appearances from the bench have been poor anyways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,522 ✭✭✭dor83

Really poor performance from Inter, Conte has to take the blame for the defensive problems this season after letting Godin leave and replacing him with Kolarov who isn't even a centre back. I know that Bastoni and Skriniar were missing today but if he had brought in an actual CB then maybe we wouldn't be relying on a wing back who is well past his best to play there, I would probably ever play Ranocchia there ahead of him. Add to that the fact that Perisic should not be playing as a wing back and you have a left side that is really lacking defensively.

Lazio getting spanked 3-0 at Samp a bit of a surprise.

Unexpected results. No win for any of the Champions League sides. Not ideal preparation for midweek. Pleased for Osimhen getting off the mark.

Osimhen looms a real player, be doing everything but score till today.

It rained goals in Serie A today. One game had 4 goals, two had 7, the rest had 5

They said that after Juve released a statement saying they intended to show up for the game. The local authorities have said they told Napoli not to travel, that overrides the rule that says they need to play so long as they have 13 fit players including 1 keeper. The game should have been postponed and Napoli will most likely win an appeal of the forfeit.

Just to explain what happened. First of all, Napoli had 2 players tested positive. You need 10 players positive to cancel the game. Napoli had just played Genoa who had 2 positive players out and they were happy to play that.

The game was supposed to go ahead, Napoli had transport to Turin arranged with social distancing "bubble" safeguards in place as per Serie A rules. Napoli asked for the game to be cancelled. Napoli assumed it would be rescheduled and they weren't going to play and cancelled their transport and hotel. The league ruled the game should go ahead, same as other game did with under 10 players tested positive. The day before the game ASL say not to travel only because it was now impossible to organise the logistics of proper safeguarded bubble travel arrangements. This was the day before the game. Napoli fúcked up big time, and lied by omission with their "We were told not to travel".

This is the reason Napoli were punished, they decided themselves not to play the game even though they should have. Lots of teams are playing with covid positive players in all leagues, if every game was cancelled because of a covid positive player not one league in Europe would finish.

That post was going by the information available at the time, which was that at the Naples ASL had released a statement saying that they told Napoli not to travel. That had been reported on the Saturday, before Napoli were scheduled to fly, and the ASL clarified on the Sunday.

It'll depend on what was advised by the ASL on the Saturday, the disciplinary commission said that it made it difficult to travel but wasn't an outright ban, what exactly they mean by that I don't know but I fully expect the most Napoli get to be a point deduction and that the match will be rescheduled. The disciplinary commission said themselves that they only had two options, to punish them as they did or to not punish them at all, so they couldn't give a lesser punishment and Napoli will likely get it reduced on appeal.

Çalhanoğlu, Bennacer, Samu and Theo have all been excellent and almost every player has upped their game and the new signings look good with a bunch of em getting goals Vs Celtic tonight

Atalanta battered again. Gasp needs to sort this out quickly. Two fantastic results from Samp all the same battering lazio last week and now this.

How long before the pressure starts to come on Pirlo.

2-2. Atrocious VAR decision that must have been intentional by the ref who didn't even check it.

Now he gives Milan a penalty that never was. Clown

He missed 2 actual handball pens and gave two joke ones. This being Italy its likely not by accident.

Set up two goals. Two odd subs that Milan made with so much time left. Leao and Saelemaekers were offering some threat.

Standard of attacking play overall was very poor overall despite the number of goals - apart from Leao's two assists. Summed up by a bizarre sequence of play about an hour in where Roma broke and most of the Milan team stayed forward, did not work back. Roma made a mess of the break. The ball was played forward to Milan's players who did not bother getting back and they were all just standing around. Nothing happened. It was weird

Not sure what Zlatan was thinking for the corner. Should he have been heading that out?

It's really amazing how Ibra is still so good even at the ripe old age of 39

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Milan did well considering it was another questionable refereeing performance. A fortunate penalty given to Udinese and a blatant handball by a Udinese player checked and ignored. Try at least to be subtle Serie A.

The Gervinho volley was a thing of beauty.

Also enjoyed Jankto's strike for Samp. Serie A has been very exciting once again. De Zerbi is doing impressive things at Sassuolo.

Pirlo must be under pressure. More points dropped today. The last second of the match , what a.disater for them. You love to see it all the same. Makes the scudetto race interesting.

Ends 2-2. Even though he got the equaliser not a great night for Zlatan, goal disallowed due to a handball from him and he blazed a pen over the bar.

Milan's form was always going to end as they are outperforming the squad's ability post lockdown but a bad week for them heading into the International break.

It's becoming increasingly apparent that it wasn't Juve who were stopping Inter from winning titles in recent years, it was just simply Inter stopping themselves. This Conte project seems to be done already, now it's just a countdown to the messy goodbye, disappointed because I had such high hopes for him but seems even he can't overcome the Inter malaise.

The rest of the chasing pack didn't cover themselves in glory either. AC seem to have only gotten their s*** together by accident

Think it's too early to say that. They're only 5 points off the top and Milan are away at Napoli next. Every chance Inter could be 2 points off the top after the next round if they beat Torino. I think it's an open race at the moment but I'd be more confident of Juve putting a run together.

Maybe, just feeling very pessimistic after such a sluggish start, thought they were getting it together last season but feel the Europa League loss was quite damaging to morale and recruitment wasn’t great, time will tell.
