Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

EI2HH Mooncoin is in QSO on 3.759. 60 over 9 on his own SDR.

Wow harmony's transmitter is not great. Harmonics are fairly high it would appear, S8 on 28900 for example, when +50 over at main frequency.

And bang in the middle of the 10m Amateur Band, when it's open across Europe. Oops..

(also EI2HH doesn't have GPS working, and the frequency accuracy is a little off. I don't have contact details for him though)

No sign of my Kiwis coming back online, John over at Kiwi gave me access to their reverse Proxy service but it's not working, server issues. It's free so I'm not expecting it to be perfect.

    ISP's are really obnoxious.

John's suggested a full reboot of the Kiwis to get them back on the reverse proxy, in case you didn't see it on the forum.

One of my Kiwis is back online, the one with the Megadipol.

I am using the kiwi reverse proxy and as a consequence the URL to the kiwi had to change and is now http://emeraldsdr.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/

The Kiwi with the Megaloop will remain offline because the new modem supplied by Vodafone has only 1 lan port would you believe ? yes, 1. So I have to wait up to 1 month for an unlock code for the 3 modem.

Very strong today on 11560 and progressively weaker on 17340, 23120 and 28900 on the Kilkenny receiver. 50 over 9 on 5780. The harmonics would not cause any trouble to listeners except very near the transmitter.

Another pirate on 5790 today in Dutch. Being heard well on some of the Kiwis in Ireland.

Unfortunately my Kiwi is offline again due to issues with the free proxy service. Shame. I don't want to have to pay for a proxy but this one seems to be unreliable.

SDR's back up turned out 1 of my Kiwis power lead popped out but both are backup.

    New Address for Megaloop Antenna

    And for megadipol Antenna

sdr.hu is gone forever so another site to find Kiwis

Music pirate on the unusual frequency of 3400 kHz. I think it is the hobby pirate from Dundalk which has been off 1494 kHz recently. Good signal on the Carlow SDR, bit weaker on Malin.

If it is the Dundalk pirate they must be using higher power. Was only being heard within a few miles of Dundalk before on 1494 and various other MW and SW frequencies. Never any announcements, music and vintage pirate recordings.

Unfortunately, credit ran out, all 20 GB used since 17th June, that was fast, I won't be topping up until July, too expensive.

Shame Vodafone have such a puny limit but that's the way it is.

Was there a bit of argy bargy not too long ago about some of these sdr's being shut down due to 'abuse'?

That was likely one of the registries for publicly accessible SDRs, as opposed to the actual SDR endpoints.

There is only one SDR in Ireland for the last while, the one in the North West. Even it was off air at times. It is on this list of Signal to Noise ratings for world wide SDR's.

    http://rx.linkfanel.net/snr.html

Listen on 3905 kHz for the Dundalk pirate which has gone high power. Plays old recordings mainly Radio Sovereign and relays Caroline on their Manx Radio weekends.

I must put credit on the PAYG for my SDR it's off a while, it eats 20GB in 2 weeks, that's with 2 Kiwis running.

Or, I might go into the three shop and get a PAYG sim again now I have the reverse proxy they don't really care the GB you use on the mobile phone sim.

Ah, weird, my port forwarding had fallen off the external firewall. That's now fixed and my Kiwis are now available on these ports. If ye do log on, please do fill in the name on the top right, helps me immensely for the records.

They're getting an identical signal: Antenna: Active Antennas AAA-1d, and the feed from that is coming into one of these splitters. I've got the GPS signal coming in from a marine antenna on the roof of the shed, split via this fantastic bit of kit

The antenna splitter is hurting the reception under ~500kHz so I have a plan to get me one of these with the multicoupler.

I'm continually running a stack of WSPR listeners on these Kiwis, so there's likely only one channel free on them.
I have plans to put a Pi under one of them instead of the Beaglebone Black, and that'll free up lots of channels, but that project is a bit off yet.
There's also the possibility that I'll get one of the Chinese Pi+kiwi-knockoffs for that purpose, I'll have to check how those review first.

Thanks, unfortunately vodafone monitor the GB usage tot he Kb and 20 Gb goes fast so I'll have to go back to three and see if they fixed their 4G it was disastrous, apart from the speed issues the blocking of ports is a joke.

Anyway, I'll pop in to 3 on Saturday and buy a sim, they don't monitor the usage anything like Vodafone.

What about a Gomo SIM. They use the Eir network. €12.99 a month for 80 Gb

Check them out at https://gomo.ie/. Moved to them about a year ago (when it was €10 per month) and have it in a house in the country to allow me to listen to my HF radio without city noise. It has worked well. The kids are also using gomo and they have been fine. I haven’t had to contact their Customer Care though

I might be able to help with the blocked ports issue if you have 4G coverage with 3.

If I remember correctly you tried, didn’t you give me a different APN ?

I signed up with gomo so I’ll see how that works out, the ports will still probably be blocked but I’ve the reverse proxy now anyway so it doesn’t matter, thanks anyway.

    .

No that was me, I gave you the different APNs but you tried them and found them ineffective. As I said I used the different APNs on 3 some time ago and could use inbound ports with no issues once the new APN was entered.
