Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Me too and I just rang a friend to see if she could get into the link and she can't either.

That's very unusual. Try a different browser.. It's very difficult to advice if you're not in front of the actual PC/laptop.

I cannot figure it out at all.Have tried different browsers too.

I am going to cry. Not going to get very far if I can't even open the damn link.

I just went back from the very start again! The link doesn't seem to work for me now. It's saying the following.
The site reports that the request is not valid.

    Is this what's happening you?

Yeah, it is a problem with the site itself.

You can't 'transfer' as this is an open competition and not an internal, current serving civil servant only one, you have to go through this competition like everyone else. I would assume you'd start at whatever increment you are currently at if you are a serving civil servant.

Would that apply to a serving public servant also?

Civil servant, public servant.. what’s the difference ?

Would anyone by any chance have the documents that were on publicjobs initially they could send me please?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 91 ✭✭themom

It was initially just a basic application form with your personal details Hana98

If you are opening the doc in word you need to enable editing on the doc before the link will work, make sure you are pressing ctrl + link! If not hover over the link and you'll see the url, write it down and put in directly into your web browser!

You need to hold down control while clicking on the link.

I completed tests this morning but my typing on the audio let me down. I didn't finish them.

    Hey guys,

For anyone who has done the actual call handling exercise, does it follow exactly the same steps as the practice material ie Phone number, name, address post code etc or are there more fields to be filled out. Thanks and best of luck to everyone

Got 5 pages done, with god knows how many spelling mistakes. Got the whole verbal reasoning test done for a change. Doubt I'll place very highly in the OOM, but it's good practice for the mainstream clerical officer exams presumably coming up later this year.

I think it's only natural to be thinking the way you are! However, I wouldn't worry... As, the majority of the time, you've done better than you thought you have. :)

I’m buggered at the moment. Haven’t even tried the practice tests. I have eye infections and can’t see properly :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 145 ✭✭Sharon2017

Is the practice test entirely necessary? With these kinds of tests (of which I've done a lot lately), I sort of prefer to wing it without practising! Will I be shocked if I don't?

I found that the practise test was benifital. Give me an idea what I'd be doing.. Although I haven't done the actual test yet.

Does anybody know if we all get the same questions as each other on the tests or are they all different

There is usually a few different variations of the test to make it harder for people to cheat

Is this a similar pay scale to the civilian immigration jobs at Dublin Airport?

Is there much chance of overtime/additional shifts for the CO's at Dublin Airport to bump up their pay with the odd shift?

    no

Done a Call Test practice, expected I could do more after registering with name and email. However it wouldn't allow me just said test completed. I contacted the helpdesk asking about doing a second call test this was the response.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your email.

You can only do the practice tests once.

    Kind regards,
    Support

Check your personal email, another practise test link for the call test practice was sent out

I'm still practising these tests. :O I'm finding having to get them to repeat herself and spell the words for me, just wastes so much time. You'd be nearly better to having a stab at it and try to type in the word yourself and just move on!

Just done them blind there. Finished the verbal, remember it from years ago. Only got five done on the call taking though, not over the moon about that. Definitely a few spelling mistakes too.

Did it myself earlier today, only got to page 5 as well. Hopefully it's enough with the other scores to get us through!

I only got to page 4 finished. But surely you'll have more time in the actual position to type in the information?

Also the first test about the car part manufacturer. I done that very test previously. For a different campaign.
