Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Took this from my camera phone whilst struggling up a hill today near Tinahely. Surprised it came out so clear. The ideal would have been to stop and snap. Great day for a cycle.

I got this one a few weeks back just as I was starting out.

Couldn't take any today. Was too showery to be taking the phone out of its waterproof cover (sandwich bag).

    Excuse the ugly barrier! :-P

Quality photos guys, looks like it was a gorgeous day out. I can only offer this, taken last June on the Military Road (Dublin/Wicklow), heading back to Stocking Lane.

Took this one while taking a break at Glendalough today:

I spent a beautiful day cycling around Dingle last May, my favourite shot from the day is probably this one:

(By the way, if anyone can tell me how to put a photo in here directly from flickr that would be great!)

I don't know if a photographer can become a cyclist but I'm starting to believe that a cyclist can become a photographer... Here's another one http://www.flickr.com/photos/twowheelsnoengine/5527219600/ with some hale stone on the way back to Dublin

A bit of RD and chain trouble today brought a halt to my cycle after about 20 km. Whilst awaiting the rescue team I amused myself by observing a ladybird on my saddle. As shown in the picture it seemed to have an attraction to the red stitching. I assume (wrongly?) that ladybirds are colour blind and therefore it wasn't mistaking the stitching for a mate. Any entomologists on here care to enlighten me as to the reason for its behaviour? TsIvL.jpg

Here are some photos from my ride today, from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh to Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, Northern India (114km.) It was a pleasant bearable 36C after rain last night (it has been in the 40s for the last few weeks.) Nepal by the end of the week, hopefully will get a bit colder up in the hills.

Thanks man, I'm using a Sony nex5 with a 16mm lens. I don't bring it out on spins too often as its bulky even for a compact dlsr and I tend to stop too much when I have it with me! Strap the camera bag on to either myself or the bike every once in a while tho

Is that the "sweep panorama" feature that they had on the ads? Comes out really well, no "warping" noticeable (to photo noob like myself anyway)

Yup yup, takes a little bit of practice but its great effect to have. I mostly bought it for its hd video capabilities and I could use my nikon lenses with it too. Fairly happy with it, really neat and powerfull little camera

Wow, some of those photos are incredible! I feel sorry for the people on exercise bikes in the gym, all they get is the view of someone else's sweaty backside!

I took this one in Castlegregory back in May.

That statement is the reason why I bought an actual bike! Why sit in air conditioning when you can be outside!

I thought west Cork was supposed to be gorgeous. Last time I was there as a child, so I don't really remember.

@Biopace. You have some lovely shots there. Would make a great advertisement for cycling in Ireland.

Col du Soulor this afternoon. 28c in the shade. As the ski station has closed and the summer season has not yet started, there were no cars at all today, just a couple of dozen cyclists.
    col-du-soulor-1.jpg?855966542
    3km from the summit.

    col-du-soulor-2.jpg
It is a 21km climb at 5%, but the last 7km average 7.8%

    col-du-soulor-3.jpg
At the summit looking west towards Col d'Aubisque, the Tour will be along here on 15th July.
