Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Snow in last hour in Roscommon, Tuam and Portlaoise- Picture evidence if needed!

None needed, it was purely a technical comment! Wet-bulb temperature was near 1.0.

Temp 0.6, dp 0.3 at 3 pm, snow. Wet bulb temperature down below the 0.5 °C threshold.

1.2°c at NUIG weather station close to me. Got caught in a heavy shower and the rain felt like shards of ice. Bitter. Reminds me of winter 2010.

I'm working out near the ball & it's still rain here, heavy rain

Ooops, look out window sees snow

    We’re out almost at Newbridge

Went back to drizzle for a few mins and now wet snow again. Nothing sticking

Just drove from Saggart to kilteel via rathcoole on the n7 and the freezing rain has turned to quite heavy snow. Grounds too wet for it to stick though I imagine.

Latest sat sequence. Plenty of showers lining up for the rest of the evening, probably continuing to be a messy mix of rain, hail, sleet and snow:

Personally I am looking more towards potential lightning later. Even if any storms stay on by the coast, will be nice to see some winter lightning lighting up the sky, as is proper for the time of year.

    New Moon

    Not sure how many snapchatters we have here but;

The Snapmap feature is very good for spotting where its snowing and sticking etc. People can choose to put up public stories based on location so anyone can view - snow is pretty popular even among non weather enthusiasts so there are plenty of snow 'reports' if you would.

Plenty of snow around S.Kildare and parts of Laois!

Had a heavy burst of snow in Tallaght, blew through before it ever got going though. Nothing stuck.

a real wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow in Dunshaughlin, nothing will stick as it's far too wet and too much of a wintry mix.

There looks to be another batch of EC off the west coast and likely to track countrywide. Will probably be the best hope for later.

After snowing earlier for a few minutes, precipitation eased back to light or very light and returned to rain along with a 1c rise in temperatures. Back down below 2.5c again now, but no precipitation despite the very heavy skies.

An almost continuous band of rain/hail/sleet showers that is really totting up the prep totals now. Never very heavy though at any one point.

No different here- just horrible rain, I can't even get sleet at 1c.
It only snows from an easterly here so I'd say the next snowfall is due in about 50 years!

I can perfectly get snow from northerlies or northwesterlies just as much. It's just a matter of the setup being just right.

Dropped from 6.5C at around 12.00pm to 1.5C at 3.10pm

After 1.00pm became very dark with torrential rain turning to sleet and then snow.

Winds increasing in strenght with driven sleet / snow from NNW at 3.30pm. Bitterly cold.

Winds still gusting- current temperature 1.0C.

North Cork / Limerick / Tipperary border. 130M ASL

Continuation of showers of various types of precipitation and a more organised band making its way onto the W coast to cross the country during the evening as mentioned above.
