Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In Castletroy, Limerick - it has basically gone from day to night outside now, some hail mixed with rain but the sky is a horrible dark grey. Not feeling very cold though.

Saggart village on the Kildare/Dublin border, sun is out, feels fresh compared to earlier on which was bitterly cold. Calm before the storm?

Very marginal later so don't hold your breath. Bitter cold is a windchill factor

Heavy rain here now with a sleety mix in West Clare, temperature is 5.7c. Had heavy hail and thunder + lightning around 30-40mins ago.

And dropped to 4.7c in the space of 11 minutes!

Heavy snow shower in Tuam. Surprising how quickly it is settling despite the wet ground and starting off as rain.

Edit, easing up gain but was a surprise to see.

Showers seem to be moving quickly across the country. In Dublin, it's bitter cold with a wind that would slice you in two.

Christ the weather has changed in the last 30mins here, the wind would cut ya in half and its freezing cold

Rain turning to snow on the north Kilkenny hills.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,238 ✭✭✭Oneiric 3

Temps during passage of that last shower here. Quite the fall as the rain turned increasingly to sleet and then snow, and then back to sleet again.

    sss.png

    Edit: and Td:

    ssss.png

Snow was clearly intensity induced, in that colder air was dragged down from a height during most intense part of shower.

3nd coldest station on that map is the one nearest to me (at time of writing) which is not the northwest. 2nd coldest Roscommon (0.3c) again, not northwest. Get your geography right bucko. :p

Quite a lively shower just passed over, which was about 3/4 snow 1/4 rain at its peak. Some very fast moving scud on the back end of it.
