Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Here is an unusual one

1960's RHD Pontiac wagon. They made a few of these for the Aussie and UK market, and one ended up in Kerry. Would want to be very clean and original, asking for mad money.

I like the gto style double deck lights. This could be bad ass....:)

Judging by the wording in the ad, the seller is setting you up for a right shafting if you show any interest in that grim tercel.

Bring a large tub of Vaseline when you go to view it.

But that colt is pure class. love it.

Tercel is fwd so it's worth feck all,

a bit of an Edsel of a Toyota where they halfheartedly went fwd but kept longitudinal engines

giving worst of both worlds and the market spoke, hence only for sale 2 years.

I'd say if that arsè get any interest in that he deserves the other ass that rings him.

Yes when I saw Tercel I was instantly thinking of the 4x4 version.

I had to ask him how much he wants. Dont be drinking tea.....

Not much detail at all. Wonder what the story is behind them and does he want 8k each or for all 3?

I'd eat my hat if he wanted €8k for the three of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,349 ✭✭✭80sDiesel

Wants 8 each but can't help thinking he jumped on the bandwagon and is now stuck with these. These don't seem to be getting the prices they did.

It was sold some time ago for £8500, taken around Europe, blew its engine up and was cobbled back together. The guy who sold it for £8500 was laughing all the way to the bank.

The BJ40 on the left has an AUS (NSW?) plate on the front.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,033 ✭✭✭Silvera

Correct! Obviously transferred to the UK (N.I.) register many years ago (and then transferred to that Rolls Royce).

'VIP 1' is owned by Roman Obramovich and is on his classic Rolls Royce cabriolet (often seen in Monaco). The reg cost him c.£250,000 several years ago.

Still worth serious money in Germany that, which is where it probably came from. Engines are cheap enough to buy fully reconditioned from a reputable source.

I think it's a fake number. VIP 1 was only issued as a one off (possibly to the Popemobile in '79), Kilkenny finished on UIP back in 1986 before the changeover.

The reg plate alone is worth a lot more than the car, and the car looks to be worth it's asking price, provided it's not hiding something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,079 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

VIP 8 is on a Morris Minor van in Kilkenny I believe..

Always thought it was on a Granada for some reason....

edit: No, it was a jaguar zj6 belonging to Bill Finnegan. Killkeny CoCo gave him the plate (issued in 1971) for his work in founding the local beer festival. The one on the popemobile was a fake
