Depends how busy the dealer in particular is. Most main dealers have a lead time of about 1 week.

BTW I got an email the other day telling me I earned a free gift for being a subscriber for over 12 months - it's an umbrella. Was hoping for a weekend test drive in an M car.

Here's mine for an extra free month each.

I had the same but before cancelling went in to get my Xenon bulbs replaced. €265 they cost to replace, with BMW FIRST I got them for free. Not bad for €16.90 a month. I'm not too fussy about my paintwork so the Circle k washes are plenty enough for me.

Signed up for the free 3 months end of October. Of course, coincidentally, I needed a small job done to the value of 295. Got the 20% off so saved almost €50 so will continue on the €4.90 per month subscription. Bound to save money

Anybody having trouble with the fuel card? Can't seem to login in to the Circle K website, but the card and PIN has arrived.

As far as I know you can't login with the account bmw first gives you. If you need any changes made to your account (card lost, registration changed etc) you can contact bmw first and they will deal with Circle K for you.

How much was the reduced price?
    I've a feeling it wasn't cheap still.

If the saving is %20 then he likely paid €440 after the discount.

Which means €550 to replace front and rear brake pads

Brake discs on an F10 are crazy prices even from EuroCarParts or the like.

Replacement front and rear pads were only mentioned by the poster though.

F10 front pads and disc replacement are €760 from BMW dealer or €608 with the BMW First discount.

Crazy Germans! Paid €300 to get new pads and disks on all FOUR corners on a Superb 3.

I did the rear disks and pads on my F10 5 series in December. It was about 254GBP inc delivery of parts (2 disks, 2 sets of pads (shims and new bolts inc), 1 x wear sensor. Pads and sensor was approx 100GBP. I had a discount as I use the same BMW main dealer via the enthusiast site and they have been handy when repairing the other halfs mini.

At the main dealer here in the UK its 447GBP for front and rear pad change alone! Including disks and your looking at about 1000GBP!

So if your DIY savvy it works out at around half the price using the same genuine parts.

There's not much between using OEM parts with an indie specialist's labour costs compared to going straight to BMW with 20% off... This is probably the dilemma they wanted to create.

    2017 BMW X1

From memory the invoice was about 520 which is the price on the BMW service website and I paid about 410

    Absolute robbery.

This is why I only get them to do the oil and filter, get my free wipers and get them to do absolutely nothing else.

On my 520 it's 160 to do the cabin filter ffs.

Bought cabin and fuel filter myself for the grand total of 40 euro from euro car parts. Local mechanic fitted both for 40 too. 80 euro total. BMW charge 290 for this, so still over 230 with BMW first discount.

Completely agree. That is just a quote.....paid 0. I had just got oil, filter and wipers for 130 euro that day so wasn't too bad.

I did the brakes myself and also do the other bits myself too. Air and cabin filter is 100% DIY job for everyone.

Ah ffs that is a disgrace.
I seen my fair share of main dealer bills but that is just nuts. Add in the fact that they are overly eager to swap out brakes too and brakes servicing costs easily become 10x what they could be.

Agreed. They told me I needed new brakes due to a vibration I was getting in wheel. Turned out to be a bushing.

Is it for a 330d? Crazy money for service items.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,381 ✭✭✭vintagevrs

Yeah 330d, and they wanted coincidentally almost €330 per disk only. I just checked the UK site, which is good for OEM parts if needed and they are €295 there.

Had the BMW First and priced up new front Disc and Pads Full Service and Brake Fluid service for Mini on Mini Service and it was just €900 before 20% discount. Went to my local BMW indy and done for €480.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,224 ✭✭✭Kramer

There's no doubt BMWs can be expensive to maintain/service/repair, regardless of the 20% discount offered by the subscription.

Still, I can't complain with my free mini valets & wipers so far......
She's clean again..............but for how long .

    Conlon's Limerick - good job.

I've a leased company car BMW so I presume there's no real benefit for me of BMW First as all servicing etc is already included?
