Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Getting a tip for a horse in Ireland can be expensive, especially when Elliot has the 1st and 2nd favs but I have been told Samos Island will run well in the 4.35 at Punchestown.

    3.45 Nottingham PEGGIE SUE

I like this one here who is proven at C & D, and likes soft ground.
At 80/1 PP Adam West's mare can outrun them odds.
In form lately, and will put a line through her last run at
Ayr as she was drawn on the 'wrong' side and tried to make all over
a somewhat longer trip. Solid Each Way credentials imo..

    Gluck

A favourite of yours Zimmer, With Pleasure after running very well their in Bath, Franny got him in a bit of trouble I thought..

This will prove a good bumper imo, several well backed and gamble landed on the winner,i put them all in the tracker and will watch with interest when they reappear.

SAMOS a big drifter in the face of strong support for the winner, not knocked about and should be of interest when next out.

I didn't notice him in the race.. Unlucky in running? Or was he not good enough or not trying? Money was down regardless.

For anyone that doesn't know, pp went 5 places for that race.

ADDEYBB must be one of the gamest horses in training, rarely runs a bad race and excelled himself again this year when winning twice in Australia.

In at the highest level in the 3.40 at Ascot a good group 1 where he went close last year when beaten 3/4 length by Magical on soft ground.

With the ground even softer tomorrow ADDEYBB is worth an ew bet at 10/1 and is also worth an ew bet without Magical at around 11/2.

In the3.40 i am backing another horse who likes it soft and runs very well in big fields.
KYNREN did not run up to his best in his last two runs but both were over 6 furlongs and he clearly is better over 7 or 8 furlongs,he also likes Ascot and has run well in this race twice and has run well over a mile here on other occasions.

At 28/1 he is real value ew 5 places and is worth a bigger bet than one would normally have on 28/1 shots. Those two are my best bets of the day and i am very hopeful of a decent return.

Wonderful Tonight 2.30 ascot is well suited by soft.At 9 to 2 is a safe ew bet in Powers who are going 4 places.

I stuck Wonderful Tonight and Cape Byron 12 to1 with the two I have already backed in an optimistic ew lucky 15.

    3.21 Market Rasen FLEUR IRLANDAISE

Worth a small win bet here. This mare has only had 5 runs over hurdles.
She won at Kempton last November over this trip. That was on good
ground, and she won easily. She has ran over different trips since then,
and usually with soft in the description, and those runs read poorly form wise.
That Kempton form though would see her go close today. At 10/1 generally it's a fair price.

    Gluck

    5.10 Plumpton TENNEWROW 33/1 Gen

Has a long lay off to contend with, but if on song can go well here today.
Hasn't fared so well the last twice on heavy going. Her run before that
would see her go close here - staying on over four furlongs shorter at the course on good ground, which is the declared going today.

Kirby gave a master class on riding a hold up horse in the 7.10,or was he just lucky to get the gaps getting through on the inside?

Had a rewind there to watch the closing stages.
He managed to pass one on the inside on the home turn.
When he got to the cutaway there was plenty of room to
make his run, and get to the front. A great powerpacked ride after
to seal the deal. A great ride from a top jock.

7.45 Kempton ALBA DEL SOLE 20/1 Boyle

A few poor runs lately. Last run at Bath at slightly shorter was somewhat of a return to form. This Course and Distance winning mare seems to be getting her act together and should go close here. 20/1 seems generous.

    Positives for punters in lockdown?

Punting is a very minor thing with what is happening all around us now but life goes on albeit in a tototally different way and perhaps with the betting shops closed for the next 6 weeks we can all look at how we bet on horses and how much we actually put in the pockets of bookmakers.

Now we have nowhere to hide, our online accounts will tell us exactly what we win or lose over the next 6 weeks,no forgetting the odd score ew when we slipped into the betting shop and bringing on losses from one week to the next.

I am going to look at the bets i place more carefully and while betting on horses is a hobby for many of us we should try to ensure the hobby costs as little as possibe, many will be surprised by the amount we bet when its all added up and we will see clearly the type of punters we are.

I am more or less an ew punter,i like big handicaps that are difficult to solve and i spend a bit of time on them most weeks when i have time.

I also bet on group and condition races and occasionally one can get exceptional value but normally prices are tight and the top yards mop up.
Addeybb was a rare exception last saturday when near the top of the ratings and better than ever on ground he loves he went off at 9/1.

That was unusual but it does happen,we have accept that we will back a lot of losers if we chase the winners of the big handicaps week in week out but with the form well established and finding one laid out for a race, getting on at a good price and seeing the horse come home in front is very satisfying.

Whatever method we use use we should now try to look coldly at our betting patterns and use this period to improve.

8.00 Chelmsford ASK SIRI 28/1 Gen

A 15 runner maiden who has ran 5 times over today's 1m trip at Kempton and Lingfield.
In all those 5 runs she has finished closer to first than last, and finished within a couple of
lengths of the winner twice. Perhaps the change of venue can spark a bit of improvement on
her first run at the course. Eight go to post so 3 places available. Trainer John Bridger had a
    winner yesterday with the 11yr old pettochside, and the owners are "Stewart Bridger Bxps" ;
so he'll want to be getting a winner for family I think at some stage, and it might be today.

    Gluck

JUMAIRA BAY has run some good races but only has a maiden win to his credit, wore blinkers last time and they seemed to help.

It is probable that he is genuine enough but the blinkers may help him to concentrate.

Roger Varian may have found the right race for him in the 4.oc at Newbury and as we know he handles soft ground he is worth backing.

I have a feeling the money will come for this fellow tomorrow.
