    Ah come on.

His piss take on Irish politics and the he built the road was brilliant satire.

you have crazy standards if your saying there is no story or punchline.

The joe Duffy thing was brilliant too

The skits you mention were just banal. Not really saying anything we didn't already know, and other comedians have taken off these kind characters just aswell if not better. His use of smutty language dosent make them any funnier

Is he still the head of Scientology?

    Lol :D

    Which other comedians?

Funny dude. Saw him do standup in the International about 15 years ago. Presume he was still on the drink at the time. Very combative and confrontational show. Funny as fück as well.

He’s also in this piece of comedy genius.

The priest picking up the child and just running off was funny

Oh please he lets them off easy. He teases them about roads ....lets them off on the banking crisis....he IS IN THE CLUB ...his cousin is Tubridy...his dad was a politician his brother was a politician his other cousin was a politician.

He can't go for the jugular ...he's too close to them.

I don't think his comedy is that 'too far'. He's toothless.

Taking off the Joe Duffys, Jackie Healy Rae's etc have been done to death by the Likes of Mario Rosenstock etc. Just a few more swearwords thrown in. The junkie on the street/scumbag was done in paths to freedom. The culchie barman character was by D'unbelievables, again just added some racist and homophobic language. The church thing wasn't really done in that way before(tho you could argue Fr Ted) I suppose but I just thought it was tasteless and cheap, notably that pedo priest gag

Used to love when I'd be strolling around town years ago and he'd be on the street taking the piss and doing his little funny songs and that, before he got on the telly.
Used to have me in stitches.
Another time I was at a protest down outside the FAI at the time of Saipan, and he arrived and gave the crowd a great laugh, slagging the guards, the FAI, Roy Keane and stuff like that.
    Ahh fun times....

I don't get why people think he is outrageous. He's pretty tame.

Even though I don't think he is funny, the one he did about the hospital consultants gave me a chuckle, that was well put together

Ah jaysus, a teacher been bullied by students. What will they think of next, bankers being ripped off by their customers, politicians being lied to by the people, priests being fondled by alter boys, ah jaysus

Don't remember anyone portraying Joe Duffy as an SM aficionado or a Nosferatu type of misery leech. Mario Rosenstock's schtick isn't comparable imho, it's all a bit poor man's Mike Yarwood.

Anyone could take off Joe Duffy. What would be funnier and more incisive if he portrayed the Real Joe Duffy. Anything but a socialist do-gooder/agony aunt

Possibly who knows, but I've heard stories from people who have met the real Joe Duffy and his on air persona is a complete fabrication. A man of the people he is not

Was it Degsy who used to hate him with a violent passion, back in the day?

A legendary thread, Degsy was not a fan.

Yeah fair enough. people like Pat Kenny and Ryan Tubridy just kind of act as they are, up their own arses

    Paging Degsy :D

Savage Eye is funny in parts to be fair.

He owes me as well because I just about persuaded a friend not to assault him years back when he was doing his knobhead routine in Dublin City centre. Like any good posh, connected edge lord, he always did it in temple bar near lots of CCTV.

How do you know that 'the real Joe Duffy' isn't a sado-masochist or indeed a vampire?

Well he's certainly a vampire for the Licence payers fee

Oh Jesus Mario Rosenstock, I haven't laughed at one of his sketches since 1999. Oliver Callanis a bit better but is fairly cringey also. Conor Moore seems a very good impressionist but I find the whole mimicry thing quite tiresome at this stage

The only funny thing Rosenstock ever did was stick his hand through his pocket in Glenroe and that was unintentional.

Joe Duffy is more of a Jesus freak than a socialist.
