Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Still think you should have gone Deep Impact Blue, but it does look almost as good in white.

    Enjoy.

We may have had disagreements Vectra but seriously that Mondeo is lovely.

They're a really nice car - had a few long terms rentals in the USA. Great cruisers and they handle very well. I like the interiors in them - very functional but feels well put together.

They're a good looking car too. Best of luck with it. :)

Four years on, she's getting reassembled.
Box in the back if full of stop faster parts, dash is back in her and everything bar the clocks is 100%... Go figure something wouldn't work after having the basically design a new loom.
Notice the mirrors are missing, they'll be replaced with a low profile set, seeing as they fell off anyway I may aswell replace them with something decent.
Next on the list is a timing belt and while the head's off I'll take measurements and see what else should be replaced. Valves will certainly be lapped, springs may be upgraded depending on price their variation in height.
Add to that a set of tyres, a stainless exhaust system, NCT and tax and I'm still a little over a grand before she'll be ready I'd say.

    Project cars. :D

Glad you updated this, I think about this car from time to time (as weird as that sounds :o) as you never see the Mariner blue NA's in the wild! Would love to buy an NA someday... or even an NB! I miss the occasional top down run since I sold the Z!

Just back after a trip to the UK! Went to Ford Fair in London and then toured Wales from South to North. Some epic roads in Wales. 2800 km done in a week and didn't miss a beat.

They're a really likeable car alright, I've been driving one a bit lately and while they got it right in lots of areas - there are a few annoyances from where they cheaped out on the changeover from LHD. The wipers are still the same as they are on the LHD so the drivers side one doesn't do a full sweep. Very annoying, also they left the handbrake switch on the passenger side. It would be much better if the swapped the parking sensor/auto stop start buttons over there and put the handbrake near the driver.
The boot door seems to be made of fibreglass as well. No biggie, just doesn't feel substantial when you close it. The phone doesn't let you call unless the radio is on either.

That aside though, it's a very quiet and comfortable cruiser, and it's gigantic. Ford are also selling 30% 2.0 models which is a pleasant surprise.
That ST line looks brilliant, the tyres must be so wide, even the 17" Zetec tyres are 235 wide.
Well wear Vectra. Great to see you go away from the VW stuff for a while :)

What's the interior spec like? Is ST line just an exterior pack or do you get more goodies inside too?

    Thanks
Yes, I felt the need for a change of scenery from the VAG stuff.

Tyres are stil 235 believe it or not.
    235/40/19

They sit 10mm lower as well.
One thing I would have preferred but wasn't an oprion,
    Black roofcloth.

    Interior gets the sync3 unit
Plus hlaf leather with red stitch
Drivers seat is memery as well.

Maybe some more bits. Not quite sure.

Other than that I am dead happy with it so far.
    One thing I will say,
It is dead quiet inside it.

Few more pics of inside and Outside after it got prepped and its first coat of Fusso applied;:)

White suits the st line much better than blue. The black grill also only looks better on bright coloured models. Love the lights as well, only ever seen them on one other mondeo which was a vingale.

Early days obviously but have you an opinion on how it drives compared to the passat ?

I seen images when I was on desktop. But now I'm on mobile they are not showing.

    Hmm,
That is strange that some cannot see the pics.
I linked them from Google Photos as my phone uploads to there.
Right click > Copy location> Hit insert image here > Paste url
Is there another way to link from Google?

Pics not showing on my Mobile touch site.
Glad you updated this, I think about this car from time to time (as weird as that sounds :o) as you never see the Mariner blue NA's in the wild! Would love to buy an NA someday... or even an NB! I miss the occasional top down run since I sold the Z!

Haha, like most of us I'm always delighted to talk about my own car. :D

I've seen a few of decent pr ices lately, all on the owners groups on Facebook. While nice one with non work needed are fetching 3/4k these days you can pick up a clean project for about 1k. I even saw a 1.6 NB being raffled at €20 a ticket.
Don't mind donedeal if you're looking for one, you get more dreamers trying to flog rough autos for 5k than anything reasonable.

Working fine for me on desktop site using Android! Ford are so ahead of the game for sporty styling and Tech! It looks way better than any VW or Audi.

Their Focus ST Line still comes with windy windows in the rear. Maybe they are going retro?

What's the 4 way headrest? Is that where it kinda ratchets forward?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,553 ✭✭✭murphyebass

My 2010 Mazda 6 looking fairly clean for once. Over 3 years of ownership now. Longest I've ever owned a car!!

I'm sure it's easy to do but I don't know how to embed an image and get it the right size.

Attached to avoid getting banned. Lol

Edit will try take a few more out in the wild soon.

    Try using postimg.org
    800*600 would be about right.

I keep saying it, but use imgur, and add an "m" or "l" at the end of each URL to auto resize them.
