This match better last long enough for Saturday :pac:

England all out for 205, at least they stopped the rot of sequence of 200 innings. They just haven't been able to build partnerships.

Interesting to see how India bat now. Kohli is due a big score.

Everything good and bad about Dom Bess in that one over he bowled. A no ball, some rubbish and some threatening balls all in there.

205 will keep England in the game for a while. India will be thinking bat once.

India just lost Pujara, 40/2, what exactly does Graham Swann bring to the party as a commentator? He just said there that Rohit Sharma is 19 not out off 73 balls, and we don't see that much in test cricket, and it's usually 73 not out off 19. No player has ever scored 73 off 19 balls in the history of the game, 0 players in 145 years, in the stupid comment of all time competition this would be a front runner.

Kohli out for 0, India 41/3

India batting poorly once more, Kohli on a pretty awful run of form.

Rahane out to Anderson on the stroke of lunch, 80/4, Expensive spell from Anderson this morning, 1/7 off 6.5 overs😊, 11.5-8-7-2 overall

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,111 ✭✭✭MFPM

Some good bowling by Anderson and Stokes but this is awful batting by India, once they get close to or just beyond England's score you'd still expect them to win but we'll see. Aussies in the unusual position of cheering England on in this match!!

Excellent artnership by Pant and Sundar, Some terrific shots by Pant....smashes a 6 to bring up a century! India lead by 53.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,220 ✭✭✭Gillespy

All about Pant today. Unreal talent. Really punished a tired England to kill any hopes they had after fighting their way back into the game earlier. Watched him get out in the 90s too often I was happy he did it this time.

England undone by selection as much as anything. So many poor decisions. Picking Bess in a team short a bowler already wasn't smart. Stokes was bowled into the ground bowling Bess's overs in the lead up to the second new ball and then had to bowl again. Virdi and Parkinson must be terrible in the nets to be overlooked for such an out of form Bess.

That went from England being in control, to looking at a possible innings defeat in the space of an excellent hour or so batting from Pant.

141-1 in the third session versus 129-5 in the first two. Sundar deserves a mention too. 60 not out he looked very comfortable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,807 ✭✭✭Mysterypunter

India got 365, a lead of 160, Sundar was unfortunate, left 96*, and Siraj who is some rabbit and was last out, appears to have sustained a hand injury in the final over before lunch. Difficult task for England, just have to bat time

England 2 down already, root should have been given out lbw...tough struggle ahead. Bairstow played an awful shot...his test career is in the balance now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,111 ✭✭✭MFPM

    England 20/3..Sibley very unlucky there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,111 ✭✭✭MFPM

What has Stokes done?!! England 30/4.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,111 ✭✭✭MFPM

Pope and Root gone now, 66/6. Game over.

Good job India made the final. They deserve it for the way they played in Australia. Would have been very unfair if Australia got there on the back of England drawing a series away in India when they couldn't beat them at home. That should be a good game at Lord's. Hard to predict the winner of it.

New Zealand might have an edge given they play two tests in England beforehand. Hopefully be a great one-off anyway.

Sri Lanka and West Indies are playing the first ODI. Sri Lanka are 147/4 off 30 overs, were 105/0, and Gunathilike the opener was given out obstructing the field, looked harsh. But the best thing about the coverage is the great Sir Curtly Ambrose is in the commentary box. He's very good at it too

Afghanistan putting on a serious score against Zimbabwe. I know it's only Zimbabwe and all but... remember when we were supposed to be better than them??

Delighted for Afghanistan and their progress, really couldn’t have happened to a more deserving country imo, but damn it’s tough sometimes seeing how far they seem to have pulled ahead of Ireland.

Pollard should have withdrawn his appeal for that obstructing the field dismissal when the incompetent umpires accepted it. Initial appeal is understandable. And then the loud roars of celebration. Get lost with that rubbish.

Those umpires should never see another international game. Neutral umpires can't come back fast enough.

It was a bit of a mess, the batsman wasn't attempting to gain an advantage, he was returning his crease. Pollard is a bit of a goon, T20 slogger should be playing baseball. Nice to see Shai Hope return to form, he is a class player

The pitch is a road, 545/4 vs 50/0, Ashgar Afghan played well for 164, the chap who got the 200* looked well suited to test cricket, solid defence accumulated well.

Pollard got that badly wrong and let himself down, he is better than just a dumb slogger though. Quality white ball cricketer.

In other West Indies news they have appointed Kraigg Braithwaite as Test captain replacing Holder. Rewarding him for the good job he did in Bangladesh. Seems harsh on Holder who decided to miss the series. Might be best for Holder in the long run to be rid of it being such a quality all-rounder.

India totally outplayed in the first T20 in Ahmedabad. Quality bowling meant they never could get going at all. Only Iyer did anything. England chased the 124 needed easily in 15.3 overs. Next game of five on Sunday.

Excellent performance by England today. Out bolted and batted India. Kohli's run of poor form continued, he needs a score soon.

Definitely overbowled, and Zimbabwe in the lead now, but need another 150 or so, good 8th wicket partnership
