He did stand proudly and then started conducting his had such pride.

Bit overexuberant perhaps, few too many Apple juices maybe, but to say that this was showing disrespect to the anthem is quite a read.

Have to say I find it odd that some of the same users that would normally argue that Antifa burning the American flag is appropriate, now have this sudden belief that when the anthem is being played, people should stand perfectly still.

I highly doubt they'd be expressing these views had this not being their devil incarnate, Donald J Trump.

Long week, a lot of work done with regards to trying to achieve peace in the middle east, topped off with finally getting news that this latest impeachment attempt will soon be behind him, more than understandable that he would want to let loose a little at what was clearly a semi-private event:

He was pointing at others etc too

And you have to hold him to his own standards where he talked about NFL players disrepecting the national anthem and he does this during the super bowl, the irony is too much :pac:

As with everything imagine if Obama did this, Hannitys head would explode due to the total disrespect to the flag :pac:

It is trumps belief that not standing still and upright for the national anthem is disrespecting it. He criticises people who have not done that. We are calling out his hypocrisy. and dont get me ****ing started on his middle east "peace" plan. what a disaster that is.

Yeah, then started pointing at people trying to get their attention. Such pride. Then started moving his chair around rather than wait half a minute until the anthem stopped. Such pride. Maybe he should lay off the apple juice (where the f*c kare pulling that from anyway because it's the second thread you've mentioned it on?) if it makes him act like that.

Regardless, considering his comments many times before in relation to the NFL players protests during the National Anthem, by his own metric Trump was being disrespectful.

I'm not even sure who antifa are or what their goals are. Don't give a f*ck about them. Burning the American flag could be seen as a protest (though not peaceful like the NFL players), I don't know. But again, by Trump's own metric, he was disrespecting the National Anthem and the troops with what he was doing.

    https://twitter.com/foxandfriends/status/999599639996313600

Was Trump "standing proudly" when he began "conducting"? Was Trump "standing proudly" when he was looking around pointing at his buddies trying to get their attention? Was Trump "standing proudly" when he for no reason started moving his chair around?

Everyone else there (bar the woman taking the video) was standing proudly. No complaints. Trump was acting like a jackass.

But that's what apple juice does to some people I guess

At official engagements, yes, and Trump always does. If that were not the case, we'd have seen footage of it by now.

He was respectful. He was standing wasn't he. Not kneeling at an official engagement protesting it. It's absurd to compare the two.
As with everything imagine if Obama did this, Hannitys head would explode due to the total disrespect to the flag :pac:

If Obama had Trump's record on respecting the anthem, no he wouldn't, but given that Obama even refused to wear the American flag pin during his tenure (at one point at least) then it would be understandable were anyone to feel it was indicative of their deeper feelings about America. In and of itself though, a little over exuberance could hardly be said to be disrespectful to America. What those NFL players did was though, and deliberately so too. That indeed, was their objective. 'America is a racist country' the subtext of their actions.

    Your responses are hilarious

So if he does the YMCA during it as long as he is standing its fine you should hear yourself

Oh my god he didnt wear a pin, Trump has used the office as a slush fund, which is worse?

Rush is still a racist, just because someone is dying doesnt make them a better person

Official or not is irrelevant. It is their national anthem. they should show it the same respect every time. He wasn't standing still. Apparently that is beyond his dementia damaged brain.

I think the Democrats just found their next reason to impeach Trump.

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

What Trump did was somewhat disrespectful. But I don't really look forward to the Democrats in Congress doing very little for the benefit of the people and instead arguing for the next four months how it rises to the level of an impeachable offense.

Ah, yes. More moronic baseless opinions.

    But...
According to the 2018 General Social Survey Trump supporters score higher on verbal ability tests, and better than most science knowledge questions, compared to Hillary Clinton supporters.

    Also…
On the 22 General Social Surveys using the verbal ability scale since 1974, for every single one, conservative Republicans score significantly higher than the rest of the public combined. As for Republicans overall, they score significantly higher in verbal ability than Democrats in all five decades, including for the 2010s combined.

Now, here’s something one can take to the bank. Most bigots are also ignorant as well.

    Here's another one from 2018:

According to Pew, 54 percent of college graduates either identified as Democrats or leaned Democratic, compared to 39 percent who identified or leaned Republican.

    Curiouser and curiouser.

Not necessarily. There are many people who would be considered to be more informed that don’t have that piece of payer. Are democrats more educated on average? Data seems to indicate so. But I wouldn’t necessarily say they are all more intelligent, smarter or more informed.

You would think after three years of being wrong about Trump-Russia collusion, and being laughed out of the Senate for even trying to impeach a President with no proof that he has done something impeachable, leftists not be running around calling others dumb, but this week that's all they seem to be doing. Have they any self awareness? I guess not.

Ivanka beautifully and aptly called out Don Lemon recently over such condescending sneering:

As for the video posted earlier as somehow being proof that Trump voters are dumb, sure videos can be found of either side saying stupid stuff for heaven sake.

Of course they're not all smarter, intelligent or more informed. And of course you have smart people who haven't gone to college.

However, on average, the pool of those who went to third level education will be more informed. Which is what the poster meant in the above, before you came along with 'not all X!'

What's going against him? The impeachment shambles comes to an end today, the Dems have ballsed up the start of their race, nothing they've shovelled so far seems to have stuck and he's looking like he's in a nice position for the race.

Look at these people, they had the correct opinions in 2008/12 ... then for some reason between 2012-2016 they became racist fascist sexist bigots!!!

This is the attitude that has Trump winning and winning and WINNING!!!

Democrats could have fixed their party and won this year, instead they have doubled down on their nonsense - the treatment of Tulsi Gabbard is a prime example of this.

Democrats didn't like her as she could have Trump voters voting for her - so she is rotten right ?
How else can you swing things ? surely you want to turn voters ? - it really is baffling.

If the Democrats put forward another woman they might as well skip the election in November.

Either way she isn't a serious candidate and never was, she got 14 votes in Iowa.

Nationally she is polling less than Steyer around 1-2%.

My point is more the reasons they were attacking her, I'm not saying Gabbard is the answer or would beat Trump - but you need someone to get those Obama->Trump voters back to Dem.

Just as important as getting swing votes back is to get people out voting, she wouldn't do that and it's debatable she would be anyway electable given what she is and her poll numbers.

But to get "votes back" you do it with a Moderate like Biden, he is the only one who ticks the requisite amount of boxes.

He is on paper the best of a very average bunch.

But who knows, it could be an unknown "Gay Mayor" who gets the nod, no one anticipated Trump.

Was Pelosi tearing up Trump’s speech or the US Constitution?

So she ripped up a speech filled with the most successful accounts of a presidency, ever, including accomplishments for blue-collar workers, people of color, and America as a whole. Pelosi actions were shameful beyond measure and she made a mockery of her position and of Congress.

Pelosi is either the most juvenile Speaker ever, stupid, suffering from dementia, or afraid of Sanders winning the DNC primary and secretly working to reelect Trump. Take your pick.
