Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Christina Hendricks is an unreal woman IMO.

Believe me, I’ve nothing against Ms. Hendricks. I was more just bemused at the notion that the women I’d rather look like were considered less than real women. And confused about what the term “real woman” even meant.

Skinny-shaming is just as bad as fat-shaming.

Arra it's not, and I've gotten more than my fair share of it. It's like making fun of someone for being able to walk is as bad as making fun of them for being in a wheelchair, or shaming someone's wealth is the same as shaming someone's poverty.

It's not particularly nice, the double standard is very annoying and it can be upsetting but at the end of the day we live in a society that sees thinness and fatness in completely different and unequal ways, the feelings of two people in the moment might be comparable but there's a heck of a lot more fat shaming and a heck of a lot of privilege that comes with thinness.

    Yeah,
at the end of the episode, Pete says that SCDP didn’t get the business but that the Japanese were impressed. And CGC didn’t get the business either.

Why would someone be afraid of a fat girl? In fact, everybody should try Fat-Girl Rodeo!

    How to Play Fat-Girl Rodeo:
    1. Your friends pick out a fat girl.
    2. The player then approaches this girl and asks for a hug.
    3. Once hug has been initiated, the player must then whisper in the ear of the girl "you're a big fat pig" and then hold on to the hug for as long as you can.
    4. The remaining players must drink continuously whilst the fat girl attempts to shake off the hug.

What the **** is wrong with you?

Like Jason Manford when he started off. Some gent shouted at him in one of the clubs "Where's your pubic hair?" Manford answered " Stuck in your sisters teeth".
He couldnt do anything wrong after that

Why are only overweight women "real women"? What's wrong with average/skinny/underweight women. Women are women are women, no?
You can't just go around assuming people's gender like that, Kathleen..

That's not how to play. You call her sisters name when you're shagging her from behind and see how long you can hang on.

I would terrified of these women.

    ,
They do not seem real to me as thier whole mindset does not seem to be rooted in reality.

    But I like this woman.

A nice intelligent and caring woman.
A real woman who not only looks after herself but cares about women (or men) who are not smart/mentally strong enough to do the same.

    Maybe real women are big-boned??

If so, there's some amount of women with giant belly bones and arse bones!!!

That singer Lizzo seems to think she is a "real woman". Some of the pics she puts up are sick.

I'm thin and still the same weight and clothes measurements I was at 18, can I play?

Actually I wouldn't. What size someone is is no particular interest or business of mine. With a friend who expressed concern about getting fat(or starting to go obviously underweight) I'd help where I could, but otherwise; meh. I certainly don't get the whole point at fat women thing. If you don't find fat women attractive, big deal, then don't ask out fat women. Simples. It's not as if they're launching themselves at you and you've no choice in the matter. Plus I've found down the years that quite a percentage of men prefer women bigger than the current ideal, from chunkier to very big. I'd even say it's a majority of men that would go for a size 14 over a size 8.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

It’s often voiced as a “cost to the health service” concern. Pull the other one. To be honest, I have more respect for people who are more honest that they just don’t like how it looks. I’d still be bemused about why seeing someone you don’t find attractive is a big deal but I’d appreciate the honesty.

I mean, I’ve had two grave illnesses in my life but because I’ve mostly been healthy weight throughout my life (but not necessarily living a particularly healthy lifestyle at times), nobody probably cares about what my medical bills amount to!

I don't understand any of this. What is a 'real' woman? Is a very thin woman less 'real' than a very large woman? What about 'regular' women? Or are they in the same category as 'real'? Was I a 'pretend' woman when I was a size 6, a million years ago now but sure lookit, and am I now 'real' because I'm no longer that tiny?

Also I should say thank you to Emmetspiceland for the inspiration to use so many quotation marks.

She prefers to just use the word - Woman. Whether they are naturally 'curvy' or thin.

Advertising. Or at least that's what it has come to mean. Gaps in the women's fashion and the like market were identified and targeted and promoted in old and new media. Dove ads were a good example. Gaps where rail thin 16 year olds weren't quite cutting the mustard selling "diet" foods and wrinkle cream to some adult women. Enter stage left; "Real women" and "Plus Sized" etc. Of course it still runs the old hackneyed if extremely effective script of keeping the market, that is women, guessing and self conscious enough to buy the crap they're selling that might alleviate that doubt. Keeping that conversation going keeps the tills ringing.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Gazzas excuse is hilarious, all obese people, not just the girls are not a good example of body positivity, whatever that is, not fabulous either, walking diabetics. But the best response ever was from a doctor on a chat show who was in the crowd. He said the basics of weight gain are that you consume more calories than you burn, and if you consume less calories you will not gain weight. A big girl on the show said it was impossible to lose weight, and he told her this, the sad truth, all her like minded social media mates were very upset, but probably because they know the doctor was correct.
