After witnessing those skinny rakes doing the athletics at the weekend even Victoria beckham looked fat this morning. Limbs like sticks that can go on for literally miles they fall just short of only needing to step over the high jump bar

I remember being rounded upon on an online discussion when I said if I could have the figure of one of the Mad Men women, Christina Hendricks would be way down the list. “You wouldn’t want to look like a real woman?” type thing. I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that January Jones, Peyton List and Alison Brie aren’t real women.

Some of the responders seemed to be men too. I’m not saying that Hendricks is fat. There’s just an awful lot of boobage.

I think it's safe to say that 99.99% of men and women who are overweight to any degree are not out to somehow craftily outwit and disadvantage people like the OP through linguistic mind games with regards to matters of their weight or degrees of reality with respect to the question of their very existence.

Arra it's not, and I've gotten more than my fair share of it. It's like making fun of someone for being able to walk is as bad as making fun of them for being in a wheelchair, or shaming someone's wealth is the same as shaming someone's poverty.

It's not particularly nice, the double standard is very annoying and it can be upsetting but at the end of the day we live in a society that sees thinness and fatness in completely different and unequal ways, the feelings of two people in the moment might be comparable but there's a heck of a lot more fat shaming and a heck of a lot of privilege that comes with thinness.
