Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say England by more points than South Africa.

Jesus, that reading out of the teams on rte was cringey..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,452 ✭✭✭✭ednwireland

england for me but as Eddie Jones says I think they will have to up there performance from the nz game if they don't they are in trouble

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

All logic points to an England victory but this is the Boks and there's no team quite like them historically who can grind out a win.

Bizarre. They've had a week to prepare but still read it from a script.

Missed the teams...is Kolbe playing?

Do South Africa stand any realistic chance? Feels like its a case of how much England win by not if they win.

    Yep on the wing.

England would be heavy favourites. SA can front up to England's power and England need 70%+ of what they did against NZ. If it's below that it's game on.

    Come on South Africa!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

The only question for me is did England peak and have their world cup final last week. Likewise South Africa have not had a stormer yet - we haven't yet seen the saffer team that beat NZ and England twice last year. Will they show up for this?

All logic points to an England win but...

    Come on, England!

Kind of seeing this like the Rassie led Munster games v Saracens.

We believe the packs are equal but when it comes down to it the English will be too powerful I believe. Expect a relatively close first half but England will pull away in second and win by 13 points.

Have had money on England since the end of the 6 nations. Just felt they had the full squad to go all the way.

SA players not looking as fired up during the anthems, very nervous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,457 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

This SA anthem is a total mood killer

Deliberately slow playing from SA there. Stopping England getting out of the blocks like last week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,017 ✭✭✭SharpshooterTom

Bad miss, really need to nail those.

    Bad bad miss.

Think South Africa should've gone to the corner with that penalty if Pollards a bit nervous about kicking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,457 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

    This looks grim...

Replay looked innocuous enough. Must have hit the hip.

Ref didn't seem to think so. Not good to lose a player so early.

I think I have watched far too much uk political coverage, because I am sure I just heard "Oh jeremy corbyn" being belted out by the crowd there.

Yeah, I thought it may have been an elbow. Pity for him though, he's had a decent cup.

Hugh Cahill sounds a bit hoarse.

Cameras not showing anything. Hope he's ok.

    Edit... He's ok.

Cole can be a penalty liability.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,960 ✭✭✭blackwhite

Did he catch Itoje’s arm, or was it into Mapimpi’s hip?

Hard to even see where the head contact was

Itoje the culprit! Good to see him up and about.

Didn't mean in an infringing way. De Klerk had the ball available but took his time and let forwards set up before playing. Setting a slow pace to the game.

Aye not a fan of Sinckler but rotten luck for him. Two minutes into your dream game.

I don’t think rugby supporters who can afford a trip to the RWC final would be a fertile ground for labour votes :P

This really ought to be a thrashing for England. South Africa are so ordinary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,768 ✭✭✭dmc17

    Some catch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,136 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

Well this is a different SA. Playing great rugby.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭Jacovs

Good start by SA, be better if they can convert it into points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

    Great start by South Africa.

    Need points on the board.

England haven't been out of their own half, barely out of their 22m.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,136 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

Pressure telling, England scrum in a mess. Need to kick that ball up the pitch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69,924 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

SA need to show something on the scoreboard soon.
