Was thinking of going up to Newry to buy some booze before Brexit kicks in.
I was reading the revenue website regarding personal use limits and was wondering if some one can clarify the position for cider?

The following quantities are generally considered as being for personal use for individuals travelling within the EU:

800 cigarettes
400 cigarillos
200 cigars
1kg smoking tobacco
10 litres of spirits (whiskey, gin, vodka and so on)
20 litres of other alcoholic drinks with no more than 22% alcohol (for example, port, sherry and some liqueurs)
90 litres of wine (of which only 60 litres can be sparkling)
110 litres of beer.

Is cider treated the same as beer (110 litres allowed) or as other alcoholic drinks (20 litres allowed)?
I'm more of a cider drinker than a beer one and the variety up the north is so much better than down here.

Is cider treated the same as beer (110 litres allowed) or as other alcoholic drinks (20 litres allowed)?
I'm more of a cider drinker than a beer one and the variety up the north is so much better than down here.

Just stash it all in a hedge and head back over for more.

Not in 25 plus years or so.

I'd price everything before going, for cans of beer generally as cheap or cheaper down here.

Since the GFA came into place there is zero infrastructure or border checks between N.I and here.
It's why the GFA factors so hugely into Brexit.

Buy what ya like and pile it high.

And as NI will still be in the Customs Union, there’ll be no checks post Brexit either.

That's brilliant , thanks all!! Cider down here is all Bulmers or sickly sweet Bulmers clones (imho), the variety up there is amazing by comparison, ho ho ho it's off i'll go!
