Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's gotta be that geezer whitewashman,i cringe when i read the PI forum, people coming on looking for help and he always seems to lambast them,or make out it's their fault:eek:

Your forgot BrianD, the man who thinks the status quo is fine and nobody should suggest any change. God help anyone who who suggests putting crash barriers on motorways!!

Sorry, are we actually reading the same posts? Have you got links to any of these horrible WWM posts?

At the end of the day there is one reason why he has the most votes: He has the highest post count + earliest join date out of the contestants, it tends to be the well known people that get the most animosity.

I'll plump for Rozie. That guitar thread had me in tears.

Most argumentative poster? Well, there are so many to choose from almost everyone who posts regularly in Humanities, Politics and Commuting/Transport could be nominated.

wwm thinks his posts are sometimes subtle... hehe... I've seen more subtlety from TC approaching a female target.

I agree completly. A bit late to add them in though unfortunately :)

I, for instance, have no business on that list. My feeble argument powers pale in comparison tbh.

Ah yes Friday again.Happy Friday to one and all.Praise the lord.Looks like all bar one of our nominees have been out hustling canvassing for votes once more.Rozie is obviously out arguing with the postman for posting her letters through the letterbox upside down!

Anyway it seems like WhiteWashMan is home and hosed unless one of the other posters can manage to start the mother of all arguments any time soon.Pighead recommends starting a thread entitled "Irish teenagers aren't drinking enough".That should get the juices flowing.

Over the past 16 hours 4 of the 5 nominees have been showing us what they're made of.

WhiteWasMan: Here he is bitchslapping Daddio

Morning Star: Showing MrJoeSoap whos king of the pedantics

The first thread I checked WWM.
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=3559120&postcount=18

Case Closed. I noticed some subjectivity in there too, not only material "facts".

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,107 ✭✭✭adonis

i always find that WWM uses the threat of banning to win his argument..
nesf doesnt really argue that much, and is much more of a diplomat than he is given credit for..the rest i am yet to run into, although i like rosie's moxy.

MorningStar ftw. Just for the having to have last word quality. WWM for the quality.

the threat of banning is cowardly and lacks dignity and respect, he is no better than Sadaam Hussein or Stalin.

thats not an argument, thats me answering a PI post.

someone had an issue, i have an opinion, and a reason for the opinion.

i dont see me agreeing or disagreeing with a motion, so i can hardly be called argumentative there.

perhaps you are mixing it up with something else? think on it and let me know what you come up with
    adonis wrote:

now, id really like you to find a link to anywhere ive done that.
i think you have your mods mixed up.
i have never ever banned, or threatened to ban anyone for having a difference of opinion, and i have never banned anyone for even being insulting when i have been arguing with them.

come on, you people are going to have to do better than that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 255 ✭✭ratboy

you wouldn't suffer from a certain level of arrogance, would you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,805 ✭✭✭Setun

Not argumentative, but "blunt put-downs" as I previously said.
I can imagine you in a swivel chair stroking a skinless cat, in a nice silk dressing gown and possibly a cigar, at the top of a huge oak table in a room made of steel, inside a volcano. Or something.

    Anyway I'm sleepy.

no, not really. im not an arrogant person.
i have confidence in myself, and im certainly opinionated, but i dont see that as arrogance.

i may have a high opinion of my own self worth, but i certainly do not feel that i am better than anyone else here, nor do i argue that my opinion is always the right one. i just argue my opinion.

shouldn't WWM be banned from this thread until all the votes are in?
He is clearly on a one mad crusade to argue with everyone on the thread and hence tie up the vote in his favour..

I for one would change my vote to him at this stage if it was possible.
He is clearly the most argumentative person around...
    No, I'm not

I strongly agree with this. The man of whitewash is very fair in his discussions / debates IMO.

I would say that you regularly have differences of opinion with people on boards. This often spills over into a debate. There is a line between debate and argument. Most people don't differentiate though.

For what it's worth....I'd be interested in having a pint with you some time because of your opinionated nature. :) I love a good debate myself and you and I regularly have differing opinions.

thats not an argument, thats just blatant contradiction....
    queue monty python arguement sketch!
    :)

anyway, ive been accused of being argumentative.
i feel i have proved that im not!

and im not on a crusade, this just happens to be my last day of non-productivity in my job, so im wasting it posting here :)

No, Rozie has to be the most argumentative, and she doesn't let minor things like solid evidence get in the way of her arguments

What's a little thing like solid evidence to a real argumentative poster!
The fact is,most of those people on the list are just opinionated.Morningstar is quite so,nearing argumentative but I stillbelieve s/he is just giving an opinion and not arguing for the sake of it.Rozie is the only one that argues over nothing, starts an argument no amatter what you say ad would goddamn argue with herself on a multiple acount if people agreed with her.
Not only does she do it,she does it in every post of hers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,175 ✭✭✭✭Sangre

No really you didnt. Had me in tears almost. It. Just. Wouldnt. Stop.

Also the "Mods should act more moddy" thread in feedback imploded purely due to Rozie.

Personally I think potentially Arguementative posters who display a sense of humour about their argueing automatically disqualify themselve from the running. That rules out WWM, Nesf and to my surprise Mr Nice Guy (demonstrated in this thread)

I think its safe to say that Rozie has never demonstrated any sense of humour about one of her posts.

If Rozie's so argumentative how come she can maintain a successful relationship?:

For the record Rozie has some transgender type scenario going on and prefers to be called female I believe.

See here for both the statement and snippet from her most arguementative thread. (Mods Should act more moddy AKA Rozie against the world)
