Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Started listening to this over the last few evenings and was well impressed. Nice mix of the obscure and the familiar. Makes a change from whats usually on.

How mad would you guys be if Creedon gets put on Late Date again to make room for an evening sports show ?

Gotta say its slowly becoming one of my favourite shows on radio. I'm not a big David Bowie fan but his show last Monday and choice of music and chats about David Bowie, not only from the Bowie Collection but from other artist was my favourite tribute.

Same as that. Not a huge Bowie fan but i don't dislike him. He put a lovely show together. I don't listen to radio much in the evenings during the winter unless I'm driving but I always have J C on the outdoor speakers in thgarden when the evenings get brighter. Roll on the spring.

Now that diesel is 99 cent a litre I'll be driving around loads in order to catch his show more often :)

I'm the same. I don't get to listen to John as often as I'd like (TV seems to win out every time in my house :(.)
Must listen back to that on Player though.

Great show last night...two from George Formby :D

Very good show. While Paul McLoone and Tom Dunne are decent enough as well, I often get the faint whiff of "too cool for school" off them. As in, they are preaching to the converted, so maybe I'm a bit too hard on them there.

I was driving to the Midlands last night and really enjoyed some of the opening tunes. Sadly I arrived at my destination around 9pm and was nearly going to drive around again for a while I was enjoying the show so much!

A radio station that plays only Steely Dan would be better than Creedon's show :D

On his show earlier Creedon said that it was 1000 listeners up in the latest JNLR. Can't find anything online. Any idea where figure for evening/nighttime programmes can be seen?

He did indeed. Although I think it might just be while the Olympics is on as he mentioned something about it too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,420 ✭✭✭✭sligojoek

That's fine by me. 10 to 11 suits me better for listening to music on the radio

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,912 ✭✭✭✭Eeden

I think they'll probably be going over to olympics coverage a bit during the show, so they've extended it so we won't miss too much of John's awesome music selection!

There was an extended show last Summer too.

RTE are just trying to pass the time with something cheap during Slow News Month.

Very decent way to pass the time it is, too, so I'm not complaining.

Last summer saw a 10:30PM finish. As there is no Late Debate a large gap is there and there's only so much Book on 1 or Arts Tonight repeats we can deal with. I too would like a permanent 3 hour show for Mr. Creedon :)

The extended show is so that John can introduce reports from Rio Olympics. Robbie Irwin did an Olympics show mixed with music tonight from 7pm until 12 midnight (Sun.)

Then Late Date does the same from 11pm to 2am

This is for the next few weeks.

As a recent regular listener, I have to say that I really enjoy the show. However, I'm not too happy with the amount of sports coverage eating into what is meant to be a music show. I imagine that other music lovers, who may not appreciate sport will be of the same view.

Olympics games have ruined my evenings with John Creedon
