    Failed first rep twice attempting Deadlift 193kg x3.

    On antibiotics the past couple of days for ear infection. Tweaked lower right (SI joint?) yesterday evening walking around (wft!).

    Thought about pushing Deadlifts back a day for additional recovery on the above but in the end backed myself and went YOLO. It wasn't to be. Probably should have had another warm up set in there before top sets. Too big a jump to worksets from 160kg to 193kg.

    Probably just totally peacked Deadlift with last weeks 183kg x5 and body now needs the rest.

    Enjoyable training cycle concludes nonetheless.

    Yeah a single at 175 would probably have been a better idea. That said, you'd probably surfed that wave as far as you could with the 183x5 anyway. Plus not ideal circumstances

    Floor Press is awkward to get setup right due to the layout of gym. Was taking bar out of ER rack safeties - which involves unracking it with bar almost over belly button - so tough on shoulders. Not really enough space to roll it up from hips with the way floor space is at a premium. Maybe I need to take the bar outside next time I do these and roll it up from feet before hip thrusting it up into position with heavier weights.

    Just a light deload.

    Deload session messing about with the above.

    Wanted to simulate Floor Pressing without actually being on the Floor (due to lack of clear floor space). So, wrapped middle of normal Bench bar with fat gripz, 2 slingshots and 2 gangsta wraps to limit ROM. It stopped a few inches off chest which is where the Floor Press would stop for me. Burned my triceps off by working up in sets of 20.

    Hack Squats for lower body - as a bread from normal Squats/Deads/SSB.

    That past week of deload seemed to last forever. Felt terrible from not training properly.

    Started a new SSB cycle.

    Tweaked something in mid right back in midst of 2nd set so aborted and went to lunges instead.

    Think it may be lat or something that wasn't warmed up and got strained with the forward rounding motion the SSB tries to bend you through.

    Really should have included another warm up set between bar (32kg) and 77kg.

    Lower right back still tweaked from whatever I did to it with SSB the other day.

    Interestingly it is totally fine when I'm up and about, bending over, walking, etc. The only time it bothers me is when I'm rolling around in bed. So, not sure what I did - maybe pulled a muscle somewhere in the serratus or intercostals or something. Had to take a pain killer two mornings straight away upon waking - but it was fine once I was out of bed each time.

    Anyway, managed the front squats totally pain free which is weird.

    Up late so was pretty knackered coming into it. Deadlift 120kg 3x8 beltless. First set double over, then alternated grip for second & third sets. Handy enough.

    Keeping the Deadlifts & Bench on a bit lighter this cycle as I continue to focus on building the quads with SSB and FS on both Squat days respectively.

    Increased weight on DB lateral raises up to 10kg per arm - which is heavier than when I sporadically do them. Superset these with DB shrugs.

    Inverted Rows at the end as an afterthought.

    I'd stretch the lats and triceps out a bit more and you'll get the elbows up higher in the rack position. Will make a difference and make it even easier to fly through them
