Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lots of houses for sale in Youghal and elsewhere...

Haven't seen Richard in a while in the City either, normally i would see him doing deliveries from the back of his truck on the South Mall, as a somewhat high profile case from what i seen on the day in question no one batted an eyelid at him. The man is innocent until proven guilty, i still recall people on social media throwing everything and the kitchen sink at him following his media interviews claiming that by his body language that he is guilty of it, maybe that's his personality, i do hope the Dingivan's find her one day and alive, but as more and more time passes it looks remote.

Yeah lots of people have him hung, drawn and quartered just because he comes across as a bit strange.

We dont know whats going on in the background but I feel if the Gardai saw him as a suspect they would have arrested and questioned him long before now.

Did the psychic who offered to help back at the end of last year ever talk with Richard?

In fairness the house for sale is joined on to the Satchwell's house.

I hadn't heard about that but looked it up there. Doesn't appear to be any follow up articles, so doesn't look like it.

In fairness, even if it was their house would it matter if it was for sale last summer?

It's possible the psychic was in for some publicity.

I hadn't heard much about the psychic before or if he had history on these types of cases.

Might have been an interesting meeting though

I assume the poster was wondering was Richard after moving away as he doesn't be seen as much anymore.
    That's all.
Why make more out of it?

I'm not making anything of it. It's irrelevant.

It's similar to saying 'I was passing through Youghal last summer and I saw 2 magpies on a wire outside their house, or maybe next door' What has it got to do with anything is what I'm asking?

The house sold or not being irrelevant remains to be seen

Really! why is that? am I missing something? Genuinely, I'm not up to date on all this.

Yes it did, could you be a little patient and in a few words explain it to me please, I would be very grateful.

A bit lousy to joke about a missing person like that?

Did she not leave of her own accord?

She's still classified as a missing person so who knows. It would be great to think she did and is still alive.

Wish they'd find her and bury her properly. I still struggle to believe he didn't have anything to do with her disappearance. He was the last person to see her alive..he had the time and opportunity and listening to him he had his reasons for resentment. Be gobsmacked if it turned out to be a stranger abduction.

It's such a strange case. No leads whatsoever.

Nothing new really. Was that old footage of RS making the appeal?

Yeah fairly sure it's old footage. Glad she hasn't been forgotten.

    Isn't it? Very peculiar indeed.

As her Aunt said, she would've had to drag two suitcases down a busy area where she was well known, but didn't. Or, she would've needed a taxi from the very few who serve the area, but the drivers have no recollection of carrying her. Or she would had to have taken a bus out of town, but there was no sight of her on CCTV before, during, or after a bus journey.

Twitter has all sorts of strange and what, at this stage of the investigation, must be unlikely and outlandish theories!

    Very irresponsible altogether.

Lot of apologies due to the husband from folks here. Over eager beaver armchair detectives who were certain he was responsible and it would come out in short order.

Not really. His bizarre behaviour was always going to attract adverse comment. Granted, people sometimes deal with grief in bizarre ways.

    The first paragraph says:

"Gardaí believe missing woman Tina Satchwell never left Ireland and that the key to solving the mystery over her disappearance lies in the east Cork community where she lived."

Finger firmly pointed in one direction.

This is a really strange one. Especially with cctv everywhere, mobile phones etc and just nothing. Surely god forbid if she jumped into the sea someone would have seen some of her pre movements? In small country towns like Youghal people don’t miss a trick usually

That would lead me to think the Gardai might know something...but can’t or won’t say due to lack of evidence

I don't have a subscription to read the article but came across a podcast last night that discussed the case, it's an American podcast called Down a rabbit hole, it can be found by searching Tina Satchwell on Spotify. nothing really new in it it's just interesting to hear opinions from outside Ireland, the thing about the suitcases is bizarre.

Remains found in outskirts of Middleton this evening.

Wonder if related to Tina, it does mention they could be "historic" but also "suspicious".

Tina was first name I taught of when I read headline. Didn’t the husband say he traveled somewhere to get shopping the day she went missing?

    Male.

And when it is stated "historic", it would suggest 30+ years.

I seen Richard in Cork City Centre last year doing deliveries from his truck, no one bothered him and vice versa. Innocent until proven guilty etc. I know people are convinced but even the Gardai don’t have enough on him for now

I dunno. He’s certainly no Joe Reilly to my mind- and even he was caught out in the end. The husband seems hyper emotional to me, if it was him I’d imagine he’d have been caught out yonks ago. Presume his story about going to Dungarvan etc tallied

The only thing I’d say about Richard would be he’s spent time in prison and he may be tougher than he’d be letting on.

Had to turn it off after less than 10 seconds.

It's like they held a competition to find 2 of the most shrill, nasal-fried, head-wrecking voices in America and hired the 2 girls that won.

Lol, I'd hardly expect people to be going up to him and haranguing him. In any case, it means nothing one way or the other whether they are or aren't.
