Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They're still holding interviews on Monday 23rd!

If that's the case then based on the timeline of previous years, they'll call people for offers on Friday the 27th. PFOs the week after.

How many people are being interviewed?

This would be interesting if anyone has an educated guess - how many second round interviewees and how many potential offers?

I heard somewhere that the big firms get around 1000-1500 applications a year. Might be wrong.

Arthur Cox invited less than 15 percent of applicants to the group interview this time.

However, the graduate recruiter did say that technically, every person doing a group interview could be invited for the individual interview, if the interviewers are impressed by everyone. Obviously, there are going to be people who aren't successful at the group stage, but ascertaining the exact figure there isn't easy.

Also, there are people interviewing for traineeships beginning multiple years from now, so you may be competing with less people than you think.

40-50 in each intake and not everyone who did the group interview got an individual one is what I was told

Let's say 120 for the group interview, cut that in half for the individuals. So 60 people competing for 40 places? Not bad odds

They take 40-50 for each year of intake though right? So 40-50 for each one of 2022, 23, 24 and so on.

Anyone get an offers yet or anymore PFOs from anywhere?

Yes but 2022 is probably already full and anything past 2024 is probably too far away to recruit.

When did the people interviewing on Monday get invited to interview? I was told the individual interviews were yesterday and today when I was invited on Monday.

Apart from Matheson, are any other applications opening up?

Partners cancelled some interviews so they're being re scheduled next week

Afaik, 2021 is full but 2022 is still pretty open. You're definitely right about 2024 being the max though. I believe it's the latest year you could indicate in your application.

Don't forget AC give a huge number of their interns training contracts, even this year the internship was cancelled but a lot still got offers, in fact they make up the majority of each intake I've heard

    All top firms do this

Well anyway, it's time to play the waiting game now. If anyone gets a call from AC, let us know. Put us out of our misery, lol.

I’m not sure how it works, I got an email at about 12pm. Maybe they are doing it in batches I wouldn’t rule it out until you get a PFO

    Anyone else hear from BW?

Anybody receives a call from Arthur Cox let us know! Apparently the firms have an agreement to release TC offers around the same time?

How'd your interview go? I was told by them that they have an agreement with other firms to send out offers on or around the 27th. Friday this week!

It went well! Best of luck - I'm sure we'll make the cut! WF said they're giving out offers on the 30th.

Has anyone heard from Dillon Eustace after 2nd round?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20 ACGrad2023

Just heard from AC. Offers will be coming out soon and I'm going to be looked after. Anyone who hasn't heard should reach out to your connections in the firm. Good luck to everyone who interviewed!

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭law987

Must be nice to have connections and "be looked after", but happy for you!

Two people from my year in college have just gotten offers from McCann's via telephone. Haven't heard anything back from DE or BW after 2nd round.

Everyone has connections. I'm not special. It's how you use your connections that matters.

I've done multiple interviews for both internships and traineeships. It's always been with two people, at least one being partner. I would'nt say there's anything to expect really. Honestly, they're all people and they're all quite different. Some are real serious and some are more laid back. They're all nice people though in my experience. It's just feels like talking to someone who works at the firm, the fact that they were partners didn't really change how I prepared for or talked during the interviews.
