Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well considering it was far enough north that it never got dark, there was no night fighting.
Also, the 3-9 was only in bases, most nights, we didn't get back until sometime between 6-8 in the morning. Trust me, when the game lasts for 3 and a half days, you appreciate the little bit of down time that there is.

Can anyone explain to me what uniform that is that you can see at 2:24 behind the wall ?? - you only get to see the bottom half

Just looks like plain tan fatigues.

    No camo patten like.

he means the wan in the skirt, a barmaid no doubt.

I'm going to wait to see the rules and scenario before deciding.

I was not impressed that the game was rigged and manipulated so that NATO were guaranteed to lose however they played. And that still applies even if I end up playing for another faction. Whether Ian can go next year will be a factor, as will the location.

I think that we should still all travel together, even if we're going to play for different teams. That part worked out very well.

I believe (although I stand open to correction) that may have been one of the bar maid/casino dealer/prostitute/whatever-else-they-had-them-playing civilian players. Basically, they needed towns folk for Bashir city.

Mm, we shall see... Im up for a 3 day none stop frankly, getting a hour or two when I can under cover, stagging on when needed, much more fun, and will make me apreciate the hotel after all the more... (Mmmmm spa....)

    More than once infact.

With the creases of the first time out of the way, I think next year will be smashing.

Watched the video, I'm so in again.

And Oz, didnt we win the game, being the only team left alive since the rest got nuked?

I'm pretty sure we won, cause I dont lose...

Considering we failed to protect Bashir city, evacuate its inhabitants, or get some of our own forces out fo the vicinity, I believe that would be considered a phiric victory at best.

TBH, I can't be arsed with who won and who didn't 'cause at the end of the day it doesn't matter. I had fun, and I hope other people had fun as well and can't ask for more than that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

To be honest... going into games with that attitude doesnt really help much...
at the end of the day, Its not about winning, we dont buy all the things we do to win, or people would go for 'the best' or the 'most efficient. This game is about what you want it to be, and id not go to an event like Berget with the desire to win so vital to me...

Im looking forwards to a good time, making friends, sharing stories, and the usual airsoft event frivolity... (oh and the cheep vodka)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,340 ✭✭✭deco nate

cheap vodka?over there,no way fk,bring it with you duty free, only way to go really:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Who said I was buying it in Sweden?

:P I Have many friends in the Soviet Airsoft scene... most are scandanavian/Russian... the GOOD stuff is cheap :D IF you know where to look.

If I have a job next year (which itself assumes the country doesn't completely melt down) I'll most likely go as it looks deadly.

Mis-interpratation much, did I forget to put a smiley in my post?

Granted the fact I wasnt ordered at any point to move my section into Bashir city and we were one of the more troublesome platoons I found it wishy washy to just nuke the city. I felt we should have isnerted and tried to extract civilians.

Anyway hopefully something different for me next year, I'd be happy enough to just go and larp the week away, I wasnt going there for gunfights haha, I was there for the lols and everything other then shooting a gun.

Our base was nuked too Doc.

Looks like there isnt a NATO side this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,363 ✭✭✭gerrowadat

Good team choices for me seem to be:

    - Poldavian Psyops, sneakiness, something new. Looks fun for a change.
    - NAF 5th/23rd Infantry, lots of defending, fortifications, arty, on the front lines, plenty of brappage.
    - NAF 3rd Ranger - more hardcore defnce. Ammo limits. No offgame. More proper milslim.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,258 ✭✭✭Cheeky monkey

Hmm not sure if I'm going again this year but tbh I'm tempted by the civlians/bandits/mercs or caputered civilians I like the larp idea and wanna give it a shot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,045 ✭✭✭OzCam

    Hmmm. This requires careful consideration.

I had a look at the Vasternorrland area. Most of it is at 200m and it ain't flat.

At least there's a good choice of roles this time. I guess we'll probably split up a bit more than last time, but at least we should still have sections together.

Sounds like it was tailored for the hawks ;)

8.5 joule max sniper limit? I'd say that's going to result in some serious "holy sh1t what was that" moments

Might put a rifle together for this specifically

There's no point Doc I was bored ****less last year with my 500fps rifle because of the minimum engagement

Get used to it... everyone else in the world uses one for 500s... Then again, if you can't hit it outside the minimum engagement distance, you're doing something fundimentally wrong...

8.5j? **** playing against that... im under the belief also, its around 3j ish... 700fps iirc with 50m min engagement. Not too big a deal at that power limit... most achivable hitswise if you know what you're doing and set your rifle up right.

why would he be taking the piss with that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Cause he sat around the camp doing **** all last year ;)

    He larp'd as a bum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Well... I don't disagree with him frankly... Larp airsoft can be great craic, There was an excelent interogation i conducted at a game earlier this year which made the whole thing worth while... we actually aquired a crowd of spectators we acted it up so much...

The civi side looks good, but personally im looking at the Pavlova Psyops side... Undercover ninja'ness, sneaky beaky misions and generally being the 'bad guys' seems fun.

My take on this is... something akin to bosnia, or perhaps Georgia, The Pavlovas ( i know thats not thier real name, but its funnier) Are your russians/ serbs... with the NAF being the smaller rebel defenders.. well, in this case it shares more with bosnia like Berget 4... Big dogs go attack civilians and defense force... I think it has good scope frankly.
